Exploring Jupiter: The Astrological Key to Progress, Prosperity & Potential
By
Stephen Arroyo, Barbara McEnerney
Jupiter, colorful, immense, dwarfing the Earth by comparison, and named for the mythological King of the ancient Roman Gods, is the astrological metaphor which symbolizes an individual's philosophical foundations, his urge to expand beyond existing intellectual and cultural limits, and his sense of abundance, generosity, and charity.
This is "everybody's favorite planet" in that it so bountifully represents the very best of what life holds for one to both experience and offer. It represents those forces that move you out and away from strictly personal issues and put you in touch with the greater society's gifts, opportunities, and offerings.
Under its influence you are now acting far more extensively than just one-to-one, or for strictly personal gain. You are now part of a greater community which has support to offer and to which you must contribute to retain your membership in good standing.

And if you are a Leo, or you have a Moon in Leo or an Ascendant in Leo ... get ready for a blow-out celebration such as you don't hold but every dozen years or so.

Musings Worth Mentioning
In Roman mythology, Jupiter was the king of the gods ... the head of the whole tribe, with their cluster of intriguing and infuriating citizens and their all-too-human ways. He was the counterpart of Zeus in the Greek pantheon. And, as with so many leaders everywhere, he set the laws, rules, and standards "other folks" were supposed to obey. And held himself exempt from them ... literally "above the laws" he himself established.
Not that he openly admitted this. He may not have even owned this hypocrisy in himself. He simply ignored the regulations whenever it pleased him ... or was convenient for him to do so. And who was going to call him to account? There wasn't exactly a system of checks and balances in place ... to say nothing of an impeachment process. The "changing of the gods" was a cataclysmic event, usually involving blood patricide and terrible in-fighting among the contenders ... and humankind itself quailed at the very thought

Analyzing the Jupiter - Uranus Trine
Late 2006
This trine formed as Jupiter in Scorpio reached 13° of the sign. If you know where transiting Jupiter ... Jupiter's position in Scorpio right now is in your Natal Chart ... this is the area of life being "realigned" as I've described for you. If you don't know the structure of your Natal Chart, use the sign designations in parentheses to get a "general idea" of what's going on now and how you're being affected. (This time of education and life change lasts about a year overall.)

Jupiter: the Symbol of Wealth
Jupiter the planet is by far the largest in our Solar System. Its diameter is 11 times the diameter of Earth. (Jupiter may actually qualify as a small star. It seems to radiate two and a half times more energy than it receives from the Sun and may contain ongoing nuclear processes like those of the Sun that could explain this abundance of energy.)
Jupiter the King of the Gods in Roman mythology was associated with tremendous power, charisma, sexual appetites, and a kind of roguish charm in many myths, if you have a wide tolerance for shenanigans like seduction by force or trickery ... and choose to overlook the fact that he was cheating on his increasingly embittered wife.

Exploring Jupiter: The Astrological Key to Progress, Prosperity & Potential
By
Stephen Arroyo, Barbara McEnerney
Jupiter in Capricorn is in a position Astrologers call "fall." A planet in fall is in a sign whose traits are greatly at odds with what the planet is built to do. It's not just a stranger in a strange land, a planet in fall has to operate in an actively hostile environment.
It faces restraints and limitations on abilities that are normally its virtues. Sometimes even these virtues are so inhibited by the sign's requirements they become liabilities ... sources of extra aggravation and stress ... with all the emotion such frustration can produce. Think of a champion Olympic runner with a paralyzed leg ... and you see the challenges faced by a planet in fall.

Jupiter Retrograde
Expanding Your Latest Creation
Jupiter represents your philosophical and ethical structures; your ability to claim and express your "authoritative knowledge" - often through teaching others by the example of your own life; your ability to expand your sphere of personal influence; your involvement with law and religion - and the "basic rules you live by;" your ability to share benevolently with others - thus your capacity for charitable contributions to promote the overall social progress you favor; your ability to envision "the big picture" of life and commit yourself to expansive undertakings; and your involvement with positive karma and the benefits you derive therefrom.
