Preface

I keep talking about this issue, because the energy involved in this pattern really is describing a time of stress and growth occurring in all our lives -- in different areas, in different ways, but still the same basic elements are playing their part in the drama.

The Jupiter / Uranus opposition is also a configuration that won't come around again until 2017 ... so clearly it's the sort of stress you only face maybe half a dozen times in the course of a life. And now, finally, (hurray!!!) there is help available ... and a way to channel all this frustration. So, I want to talk about it!!

I've also spent a lot of time looking for a presentation that will tie all the pieces together in a coherent way that didn't involve just prohibitive amounts of time, writing ... and reading ... a way that made this arrangement clear, simple, concise, complete and thought-provoking -- so that the information can help you analyze and understand what's really going on in your life right now -- no matter what it looks like (or feels like) on the face of it.

Although the presentation format may change or improve in the days ahead ... this is what we've put together -- for now.

Relief for the Jupiter / Uranus Opposition
Drawing It All Together

For those of you who are students of Astrology and working to learn the intricacies of this marvelous occult tool, let me hand you a little treasure ... a piece of knowledge it took me years of study and tens of thousands of dollars invested in books to discover. WHY it isn't made more clear in the texts that are published, I don't know ... but here it is:

When dealing with transiting aspects in Astrology, the faster moving planet activates -- sets off -- the energy of the slower moving planet. Therefore, the events or activity described by the faster moving planet will seem to cause the results that occur in the area where the slower moving planet is located, but action seems to begin with events that happen in the area of life where the faster moving planet is located. (With the occasional exception of Pluto, the "faster moving planet" is always the one closer to the Sun.)

Remember, too that The Sun and The Moon are not actually planets ... but we treat them as if they are ... in Astrology. The "protocol" as to which planet is considered "faster moving" is as follows:

The Moon
Mercury
Venus
The Sun
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto (usually)

In Plain English:

A transiting planet on this list will "set off action" for any transiting planet listed below it ... when it aspects that planet. Not the other way around. The transiting planet lower on the list will show the effects of what seems to be "done to its concerns" by activity and events described by the faster planet ... in the area of life where it is currently located because of what happens in the area of life where the faster planet is located.

In the current configuration, for example, Mercury (ideas, thoughts, information, knowledge, communication) -- in the area of life where it is currently located -- will provoke a response from Mars (action, energy, ambition, assertion, aggression, initiative) in the area of life where it is currently located.

The response from Mars will provoke a response from Jupiter (expansion, growth, opportunity, philosophy, higher education, generosity, "the rules you live by") -- in the area of life where it is currently located.

The response from Jupiter will incite further progress on a response already underway involving Uranus (innovation, originality, rebelliousness, ingenuity, independence, eccentricity, the drive to be yourself) -- because that aspect actually formed some 10 months ago ... and Jupiter has recently been in retrograde, moving back to a place where it is able to "stir thing up again" -- in the area of life where Uranus is currently located.

As you can see, it's quite a domino effect that's in play right now.

With all this in mind, let's try to tackle the complex pattern of planets located in the sky at the moment. Since there are four of them ... this is no small task, and I cannot begin to say enough kind things about the software my partner wrote that can help me work with this presentation in a way that makes this possible -- instead of the overwhelming, crushingly labor-intensive project it would be otherwise. (I understand why many Astrologers won't even TRY to tackle something like this. Without this kind of help, it's just too damn hard to pull it all together.)

So ... Here we go. We're working with a chain of sextiles extending over half the sky at the moment. Uranus in Pisces is sextile to Mercury in Taurus which is sextile to Mars in Cancer which is sextile to Jupiter in Virgo. Jupiter in Virgo is opposing Uranus in Pisces ... and Mercury in Taurus is therefore trine to Jupiter in Virgo and Mars in Cancer is trine to Uranus in Pisces.

Mercury in Taurus marks a time when thoughts focus on money matters, income issues, spending habits, the use of material assets, and, symbolically, your own personal values. Thinking is steady, practical, realistic, "mercenary," and centered on long-term planning.

Mars in Cancer marks a time of effort devoted to family matters and domestic issues, going the extra mile to insure the safety and protection of family members and family interests, doing repairs, maintenance, improvements, and "general work" to enhance and stabilize your physical dwelling and general living conditions, and devoting a lot of physical effort to your private life concerns.

Jupiter in Virgo marks a time of expanding the work you do, extending the way you use your skills and knowledge in practical applications that benefit other people and make you more "useful" in your ability to help yourself, and those you serve, live more efficient and productive lives. Jupiter in Virgo also indicates increased interest in health matters -- and will often coincide with a time when you learn more about effectively caring for your physical body.

Uranus in Pisces marks a time when unexpected and unusual experiences bring new spiritual insight and possibly deep personal meaning on the nature of life, when the desire for more independence and more psychological satisfaction in your life is a strong if subtle motivation in the choices you make, when new interests and original ideas may offer opportunities for healing, artistic inspiration, and greater spiritual development than you ever imagined in the beginning.

These are all affecting different parts of life for each of the Zodiac signs. Understanding the way this works for you helps you work with the natural flow of your life and not against it. So here, in all its glory, is a plain English description of exactly how this is playing out over the weeks and months ahead.

As always, check your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant signs.

Your Sun sign information deals with the ultimate direction of your personal growth. Information involving your Sun sign is the "overview" of events ... containing suggestions of "where this is all eventually leading."

Your Moon sign information deals with matters affecting you emotionally, circumstances impacting your family, home, and private life. It may suggest action to take to help you feel centered and safe ... or possibly even satisfied and secure ... with whatever is happening. Information involving your Moon sign may feel more private and a bit "touchier" than that for Sun and Ascendant. It may describe events and circumstances you don't really want to share too readily with the outside world.

Your Ascendant sign information deals with what is happening most obviously on the surface of your life -- information which may describe the most readily apparent events and attitudes that reflect the presence of this complex cosmic energy. Information involving your Ascendant sign will usually be the easiest for you to see, the easiest for you to work with and relate to.

(And these will all be connected!! This is part of what makes Life ... anyone's life ... well, ... complicated.)
