When Mars is in Aries, people are adventurous, pioneering, and assertive. They use tactics and perspectives that are independent and aggressive, that rely on individual initiative, that have a distinct element of competition, and that respond well to a direct approach. This energy is active in matters of personal drive and promotion. It is very up-front and honest about its goals and desires -- and its willingness to go after results by the most direct route available.

The Sun in Aquarius is now sextile to Mars in Aries ... a nice aspect of progress and productivity that will last more than three weeks before it starts to diminish. Sextiles represent moments of opportunity and insight, moments when the energy of both the planets can be put to beneficial use, stimulated by the assets and qualities of one another. Here's what the aspect looks like on paper.

Notice there are a couple of caveats in what I just said, however. Neither of these energies deals with frustration quietly -- or calmly. This is not a combination that will sit and gently seethe under pressure. If it gets upset, everyone in a five mile radius will hear its complaints ... and rue the moment this feisty dynamo spun into high gear.

Mars in Aries goes trine to Pluto in Sagittarius today, marking a time of extremely profitable action and progress regarding personal ambitions and revolutionary ideas.

A trine is an angle between two planets of approximately 120 degrees. The planets situated in this way are considered to be in a benevolent, advantageous relationship to one another, each offering the other outlets for mutually favorable expression - avenues through which to generate and use genuine natural talents and new ideas. The one now forming between Mars and Pluto is especially productive.

Mars in Aries Sextile Uranus in Aquarius

Mars in Aries has moved into sextile with Uranus in Aquarius, at 25° of their respective signs. Sextiles represent moments of opportunity and insight, moments when the energy of both the planets can be put to beneficial use, stimulated by the assets and qualities of one another. These are two highly assertive and energetic planets in their own signs of rulership. Each is comfortable, expressing the most undiluted aspects of itself and its energy ... and they are ready to howl!!

Mars in Pisces, however, is a complex energy with plenty of pitfalls to consider. First of all, it's an indicator of taking action secretly, privately, covertly. This can certainly describe a desire to maintain strict confidentiality about your work -- for any number of legitimate reasons ... including everything from simple shyness to outright paranoia. But, you may also be acting out of anxiety, phobic responses, or even obsessions -- for the darker sides of this energy include "acting compulsively" -- or even insanely. It can indicate you are acting without all the information you need -- or perhaps acting on incorrect information.

Mercury in Pisces trine to Jupiter in Cancer is a great energy of intellectual encouragement and expansion -- in signs that lend a tremendous amount of intuitive wisdom. This may not only depict the arrival of inspired ideas and concepts, but give you the added bonus of being in the right place at the right time -- for the best kind of "luck" to present itself, like a gift.

Mercury in Pisces has also just formed a square with Pluto ... which indicates another fairly mild, and fast-moving influence, this one regarding knowledge, communication styles, and the use of force. This energy suggests a certain amount of prejudice, preachiness, or one-sided points of view may crop up in your thinking over the next few days. Also, the way you present your ideas may carry a little more push than usual.

Mars in Taurus is moving into square aspect with Uranus in Aquarius. Mars deals with action and initiative. Uranus deals with sudden moves and surprises. Again, a square is a 90° aspect of frustration, hindrance, discomfort, and discord.
