With Venus in Capricorn, people tend to be cautious, conservative, prudent, and practical in their relationships.

Venus in Capricorn opposed Jupiter in Cancer early yesterday morning. (7:22 AM EST, 4:22 AM PST), joining the Sun in Capricorn which formed this angle two days ago. This ushers in a week of interesting, if less than admirable, interaction between three notoriously hedonistic energies in two extremely status- and security-conscious signs.

On January 14, Venus finally caught up in its orbit to align with The Sun at 24° of Capricorn. This is an aspect that forms about once a year, but the signs and the timing are variable. Last year, Venus became conjunct to The Sun while in retrograde motion at 9° of Aries on March 29. It finally went direct again late on April 19 -- and has been chasing The Sun ever since -- trying to catch up again, a pattern that will play out between these two celestial bodies as long as they exist.

Venus in Aquarius is an eccentric energy unto itself . . . with an underpinning of personal magnetism that can be surprising and very "off the wall" - to put it kindly. Relationships and the use of money tend to have elements of "the unexpected" involved in the transactions, along with unusual emphasis on future oriented hopes and dreams and on improving the overall quality of life for all concerned.

A very interesting pattern is arranging itself in the sky at the moment. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune are all conjunct in Aquarius ... sextile to Mars in Aries ... trine to Saturn in Gemini ... inconjunct to Jupiter in Cancer (and on Saturday morning the Moon was also part of this arrangement) ... and are mediating the loose opposition between Saturn and Pluto.

The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune conjunction brings a powerful merging of ego energy and interests, combined with intellectual focus and communications ability, combined with connections to money and relationships, combined finally with spiritual inclinations and mystical inspiration ... all together in one tight package in the highly progressive, altruistic, and future oriented sign of Aquarius.

Venus moved into late Pisces yesterday. With Venus in Pisces, people are more sensitive, compassionate, empathetic, and highly idealistic in their relationships. They emphasize qualities like forbearance, devotion, generosity, tolerance, and "spiritual connection" in the methods they use to attract love - and express the romantic side of their natures in gestures that are poetic, sentimental, tender, unselfish, and responsive to an almost psychic extent.

We've had an interesting one-two punch occur with the transit of Venus in Pisces this year. On Saturday, it was trine to Jupiter in Cancer. Today, it's square to Saturn in Gemini. At first glance, this combination sounds like it should be a real contradiction in terms. Jupiter ... arguably the most beneficial metaphor in the entire astrological family is in great aspect to Venus, everybody's favorite symbol of love and money -- but Venus, the keeper of passion and treasure, is also square to Saturn ... a Gloomy Gus, if ever there was one, raining on everyone's parade.

Under the Aries Venus

It's kind of an interesting time in the sky right now. Venus in Aries is providing a nice fulcrum point in the middle of the Saturn / Neptune trine. Mercury is trine to Jupiter. The only potential fly in this ointment is the square between Mars and Neptune, but it is a considerable one.

This marks a time when new and more sophisticated insights regarding "what love is all about" bring themselves to your consciousness. Because of the signs involved, this needs to apply to a broad, humanitarian outlook on life -- rather than in a strictly romantic sense. You may find circumstances in the next several weeks where a very altruistic kind of love and support can provide substantial benefit and growth to both you ... and the recipient.

Venus has moved into Taurus where it will be for the next several weeks. When Venus is in Taurus, people tend to be affectionate, placid, dependable, and conservative in their relationships. They emphasize qualities such as compassion, devotion, loyalty, stability, patience and kindness in the methods they use to attract love - and express the romantic side of their natures in calm but generous gestures ... often involving gifts or offerings involving "money."

Venus in Taurus has moved into a square aspect to Neptune in Aquarius. Venus deals with love, money, possessions and relationships; Neptune deals with mysteries, secrets, and psychological complexes. A square is a 90° aspect of frustration, hindrance, discomfort, and discord.
