Saturn, Ruler of Capricorn
Symbol of your Structured,
Disciplined, Responsible Public Self
Saturn is the outermost planet that can be seen with the naked eye. It was, therefore, for a long while thought to be the last of the planets, the end of our Solar System. We have since learned differently. As an astrological metaphor, it is the last of the personal planets ... meaning that from this point, the remaining planets take on a generational connotation ... and there is a considerable gap in the time sequences involved with the trans-Saturnian planets and their tenure in signs that makes this appropriate.

Saturn in Taurus
Bringing structure to your material world
Saturn is the outermost planet that can be seen with the naked eye.
Taurus energy in the creative process represents the care and nurturing that encourages and enables new life to survive long enough to establish itself properly in an often harsh and indifferent world. It understands about the need (and ability) to achieve remarkable, solid, concrete results from the sometimes unimpressive raw materials that are the building blocks of life and all creative effort. It knows how to invest itself in projects that grow and expand ... and it has the patience to wait for the "payoff" to appear.

Twelve Faces of Saturn: Your Guardian Angel Planet
By
Bil Tierney
Saturn is notorious for signifying delays, and because under stress it also symbolizes limitation, restriction, and loss, many followers of astrology consider it their least favorite planet. But I think it gets a bad rap and lots of blame it really doesn't deserve. Sure, Saturn makes you work hard for everything it offers. When it is involved, nothing just falls into your lap ... as can happen when benevolent Jupiter is distributing treasures.

Saturn Retrograde in Virgo
When Saturn retrogrades in Virgo, it's time to reconsider the way you structure and conduct the work you do. By "work," I don't mean just the "job" you do for money, but all the things that are considered "your jobs" and that have to happen to keep life's business on-track and the flow of your existence moving smoothly.
This means the daily routines, the mundane and boring "stuff" that is just a necessary part of life, the chores, errands, tasks, responsibilities and commitments you do for yourself and to make the lives of others easier because of the effort you made.

Right Now ... The Sound of Distant Thunder
Well, I suppose it's time to talk about the Saturn / Uranus opposition that went exact last Tuesday -- for the first time. We were, of course, working with the opening chords of this energy for several months in advance of the actual contact ... and since Saturn will retrograde -- and make this aspect again and again before moving on, we'll be treated to the full-symphony effect of it over the next couple of years.

What Does Saturn in Virgo Foretell?
In Astrology, Saturn represents your sense of practical ambition, your need for status, your concern for your public reputation, your desire for wide recognition. Virgo energy places value on service, work, efficiency, routine, and tending to all the little details.

Saturn in Libra
2010 - 2012
Saturn in Libra. My Lord, what a pivotal time this transit ushers in -- every 28 years or so. I have 7 pages of typed notes about things I need to talk about and points I need to make regarding this particularly awesome transit. And, yes, I realize there's no way I can write an article from seven pages of notes that doesn't amount to a short book by the time I'm done -- and certainly no way you can absorb everything in it ... in one .. or two ... or six reading sessions. Still, Saturn in Libra is that important.
So, we're going back to my time-honored strategy (Oh, Saturn loves that concept!!) of "one bite at a time." Nice, easy, digestible. And step-by-step, we'll get it all said. We have two and a half years to deal with this transit. We can take a couple of weeks -- or a couple of months -- if necessary, to get a view of the road ahead, and still not miss any of the stops and sights,

Saturn in Libra
Structure and Relationships
When Saturn is in Libra, life turns that notoriously dour and chilly Saturnian spotlight of attention -- that kind of hard work, make-it-happen, nose-to-the-grindstone atmosphere that follows Saturn around like it's own custom-built raincloud -- on the relationships you have in your life.
Also remember that wherever Saturn roams, serious pieces of Karmic business are not far behind. When he's turned his special kind of industry loose in the realm of your relationships, some or all of the following things are apt to become part of your life over the next 2 1/2 years.

Where We've Been ...
Where We're Going
That's what Saturn's travels through the first six signs of the Zodiac bring as their contributions to life. If you look at that list again, you'll see six very essential pillars of self-reliance we were all required to work on, strengthen, shore up and refine in this time-honored, predictable sequence ... one day, one step at a time.
All of these were more or less "situations under your control." You did the work, called the shots, learned the lessons, made the choices -- and reaped the rewards. Often (usually!!) these lessons weren't real pleasant. You faced situations which didn't feel like anything you'd have cheerfully chosen ... if you'd been consulted on what was coming down the road, destined to land on your doorstep. With the arrival of Saturn in Libra, life is about to change.

What Is a Saturn Return?
Dealing with Achievement, Structure, and Respect
A Saturn Return is literally a time when Saturn returns (hence the name) to the place it occupied in the sky when you were born. Saturn takes about two and a quarter to two and a half years to make a trip through one sign of the Zodiac ... and since there are twelve of them before it returns to the place of its beginnings, Saturn returns occur about every 28 to 30 years. This is another way in which cultural milestones and developmental astrological milestones are out of synch with one another.

Saturn's Transit And Its Effect On Your Life
If your life has been filled with ongoing stress, depression, emotional swings or if it has seemed like the world is falling apart around you, then please read on. During the course of the past couple of years, in particular, life hasn't been very fun for many of us. I'll bet for some, donating a kidney or giving birth would be a welcome alternative if we would be guaranteed that the ongoing craziness in our lives would end. If you thought it was just you, that only your life was in turmoil, the truth is just about everyone has been challenged over the past few years.
