Sun, Mercury and Venus
Conjunct in Capricorn
Mid-January

The triple conjunction in Capricorn has been playing Musical Chairs in the sky.
Mercury, now retrograde in Capricorn, has moved behind The Capricorn Sun.
Venus, in Capricorn, too, has caught up to The Sun and moved out in front.
So, Venus now leads The Sun for the first time since last March.

These aspects formed around 15 / 23°.

Before we get started ... A quick correction.

Ok, first things first. After carefully checking and double-checking the information on the time of the New Moon in Capricorn for yesterday's issue of Step by Step, to make absolutely sure I got it right, I got it wrong ... anyway. Have I mentioned Mercury and Mars are both Retrograde??

The New Moon in Capricorn arrives at 12:11 AM FRIDAY morning, not Thursday. That's right after midnight (MT) going into Friday. Peter finally made it into Albuquerque to get my new Pocket Astrologer yesterday -- two weeks into the New Year. That's how crazy life has been here lately. Perhaps that will help me stay on track -- but don't count on it!

Now, on to today's business. There's been a change in the relative positions of Mercury and Venus relative to the Sun as it finishes its tour through Capricorn for the year. Mercury has moved behind the Sun. Venus has moved out in front. All three are in Capricorn, giving plenty of focus to the themes of that self-disciplined, pragmatic sign.

This change in the positions of Mercury and Venus foretell some subtle changes in the way you'll work with information and relationships for a while. Frankly, it's the sort of thing you might notice only because it's been pointed out to you ... but then, that's what a tour guide is for -- to help you recognize and work with the changes in the cosmic climate -- both great and small. Let's call the one I'm writing about today modest but important.
