Forecast for the New Moon in Scorpio 2002

The general tone of life for everyone right now with the New Moon in Scorpio is focused on discarding structures, ideas, relationships, projects, commitments, and situations that aren't working well any more, that have become exhausted and ineffective, that no longer serve a positive, useful purpose, or that are ready to come to an end for any number of reasons.

With four planets -- Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus -- 40% of the astrological cast, including two very heavy hitters, now occupying this intense, self-willed sign, the investment for all of us in this kind of permanent change and "housecleaning" is impressive.

A major shift, very likely focused on something that pertains heavily to relationships and / or money, may occur over the next thirty days, possibly toward the end of November itself. At the very least, we may all undergo a significant modification in attitude toward these matters in the week or so following November 21.

The theme operating in the world right now is that of death and rebirth. Along with these circumstances of closure and resolution, come new efforts and visions on how to improve life, how to build new conditions that will replace what has been discarded, and how to join forces with partners in ventures and new arrangements that can benefit everyone involved -- you and your associates!

People are interested in creating alliances which include a diverse array of talents, skills, abilities, assets, and benefits. A close examination of the raw materials which you can combine now to improve your life ... and offer more to your partners is an important part of this month's process. The correct analysis, coalition, and execution of your overall plan for these resources is a critical factor in the success you can expect over the next 4 months -- and perhaps beyond.

This may be a month when some reasonably prominent things in your life either come to a close or undergo substantial change -- and a number of new endeavors take shape to occupy your time and energy. It will be a time when you consider the kinds of alliances you want, with whom, and how you can meet one another's mutual needs.

It could also be a period of unusual concern involving taxes, insurance, legacies, inheritances, community property, joint investments, dividends, "unearned income," and other people's possessions. Such things are often featured in times of dissolution, death, disintegration, and discarding -- which is part of the larger theme of casting away or releasing that which no longer functions, which has served its purpose, what no longer works, and what has become obsolete.

This can be both a time of sadness and crisis, for sometimes break-ups -- even necessary ones -- are traumatic and difficult, and a time of rising hope -- for new beginnings and substantial improvements always eventually bring that energy, too, as part of their momentum. These circumstances of collapse and reconstruction, break-down and realignment, death and resurrection are a necessary part of life's eternal creative cycle. One inevitably leads to the other.

Under Scorpio's energy, this fact is more dramatically drawn than at other times when endings may be acknowledged -- but are always more comfortably "in the future." It is part of the lesson and legacy appropriate to this powerful, compelling sign.
