For all the natural self-promoting interests of Leo, the actual mood of the Leo month this year will be oddly subdued and sober. Family issues, private life interests and even "memories" will encourage you to spend more time at home, more time alone, and more time wandering down misty paths of nostalgia and emotion than out in the world grabbing attention with both hands. Even this new Moon early in the sign won't be enough to overcome Saturn's conservative, dampening presence.

The New Moon in Leo formed this year with Mercury retrograde, in Cancer, and behind the Sun. Venus is likewise ... in Cancer and behind the Sun ... while Saturn is in Leo ... and right up front, the next planet this rambunctious Lunation couple will meet. Basically, this predicts a birthday party with a very old-fashioned chaperone overseeing the arrangements, the festivities, the celebration. And there aren't a lot of hard angles in the sky ... or even nice soft ones to lend much spice or flavor. Things are just kind of drifting ... which may be both appropriate and welcome here in the lazy days of summer.

So ... let's talk about encouragements
you could consider for the next four weeks.

• Study, research, planning, visualization, journaling, "sketching out ideas," dream work, projects that involve memories, therapy, self-examination, creative and artistic pursuits, family issues, private interests ... time spent in seclusion, in recuperation, in "getting extra rest" ... and enjoying some very private time -- activities where you don't necessarily share ideas or information publicly ... or with more than one person -- and maybe not even that ... all these are very much "on the agenda" as possibilities this month. You may not even feel like talking to anyone except yourself, your Higher Self, and Spirit.

• Time spent with partners or family members you love to be with might do you and them a power of good. If there is any way to plan a week-end get-away with your Special Sweetie (or the whole month if you can swing it ... or just a lot of quiet week-ends at home) ... give that gift to yourselves.

• Concentrate on "practical purchases." In some ways, this means it's no time to splurge ... but money spent on your physical well-being and emotional health is as practical as it comes!! (Think breakfast-in-bed or time spent at a charming little B&B in a quiet scenic hideaway ... not a trip to Hawaii or Paris, at least not this month.)

• Make your home and living accommodations more comfortable ... more inviting ... more pleasant to be in.

• Be organized, conservative, and sensible in "introducing yourself to the world." Emphasize things like professional authority, experience, expertise, status and traditional values.

• Be prepared for a sudden new investment opportunity (realize investments also include resources like your time, effort, labor, commitment, prestige, etc.) ... or a surprise involving "joint assets" that could be more expensive or disruptive than you'd expected ... especially from the middle of August into the first of September.

• Partners may be less focused, harder to pin down on "specifics," or unusually dependent this month.

• Issues involving your children, brain-children, leisure interests, or self-promotion efforts are subject to change ... possibly radical change ... and eventual improvement this month. As you can see, it's a month wide open to "transient possibilities" ... but not much in the way of motivation or even hard concentration.
