Goodness gracious, look at that line-up in Leo this month!! Time to have some fun of the "get your fingerprints all over it" variety -- stuff you love to do, stuff that shows off your talents, things that put you in the spotlight big time!! (And with Leo, is there any other way??) The general tone of life for everyone right now is dynamic, ambitious, creative, and self-promoting. You are ready to have fun, take some risks ... for which you'd like a nice pay-off, thank-you-very-much, and generally attract attention to yourself and your oh-so-wonderful abilities.

Romance, creative projects, leisure activities ... and "all the things you love to do," whatever those may be, will be prominent in your life this month, as they will be for everybody else. As I said in Step by Step, the New Moon in Leo is a double dose of showmanship and pride. It can also be a double dose of ego power and self-confidence, which is great under the right circumstances, and necessary for healthy self-esteem. But it can be a fine line to walk, that territory between justified satisfaction with one's own power and talents -- and insufferable conceit. We'll all try to forgive each other now, as we're sure to trip into arrogance a time or two in the next few weeks. (It wouldn't be true Leo energy otherwise, now would it?)

The Lunation (Sun / Moon conjunction) and its trio of companions, Saturn, Mercury, and retrograding Venus -- all in Leo -- suggest a powerful desire loose in the world for people to make something of themselves and their individual talents. In the past I've referred to this as the "I want to be somebody when I grow up" impulse -- and it is definitely asking for a lot of people's attention this month. If you feel the pull to do something with yourself that will make a difference to you, your family, your community, even the whole wide world -- this is you, responding to the call that's tugging on everyone right now!

It's all the more powerful this year because Saturn in Leo (which only happens every 27+ years) has been pushing us all to get serious about our creative potential, develop our talents, show off what we're made of, and do what it takes to strut our stuff for about 2 years now. It may have inspired a lot of ambition. In the best of us, it will also have inspired a lot of effort to make something impressive of our gifts ... and we may have carved out an agenda that will unfold over the next three years of doing the work it takes to bring this about as Saturn moves through Virgo -- starting later this year.

The opposition to Neptune in Aquarius for this five-planet cluster shows a deeply altruistic, possibly unrealistic wish to make the world of tomorrow a better place -- and this month you may have to confront the gaping discrepancy between what you have to offer and what you want to build. This isn't meant to be discouraging -- but it can be daunting. It helps, maybe, to remember the sentiment of "I can't do everything ... but I can do something." -- and pick out the segment of contribution you can reasonably accomplish -- with the time and talents you can work with.

The trine between the five planets in Leo -- and Pluto in Sagittarius now ... indicates that if you answer this call, the results will potentially change the direction of your professional life -- the "public image, reputation, and projects" you decide to create for yourself. It's a monumental step, if you decide this is where your destiny lies. You may find yourself overwhelmed with "stuff to do" for a while -- in making this shift. It will certainly change you, if you follow through. And yes, it will change your family, your community ... and maybe even the whole wide world -- before you're done.

So consider where you want to go with your abilities ... what you want to do over the next several years -- and, if you decide your target is worth shooting for, this is the month to launch your efforts! You've got plenty of cosmic support for your decision!

Specifically this month ...

• Intellect, ambition, emotional commitment, self-discipline, and your commitment to partnerships and your financial interests combine this month in a huge desire to make something useful, profitable, and impressive of yourself and your abilities.

• The dream you're really after, though, could prove to be very elusive for a while. Your vision and ideas may outstrip both means and abilities. It is going to take a lot of work to bring this goal into reality -- and it may also take a realignment of your relationships (the acquisition or refocusing of colleagues and partners who can help you ... or the discarding of some associates who do nothing but get in your way!!) and some reorganization of your income channels / spending choices / financial management practices as well.

• Do not count on the support of partners or other people for a while. No matter what they say, no matter what your history with them, this is not going to happen "as promised" any time soon!!! Other people may give a lot of encouragement and "lip service" to your efforts for a bit, but that's about as far as it will go for a number of months. Don't lean on them -- or expect help. It won't materialize.

• Anybody remember the children's story of The Little Red Hen ... ?? ("I'll do it myself," said the Little Red Hen ... and she did.) Well, make that your motto for a few months. During Libra (late September / first 2/3 of October) ... you'll pick up some reliable help. Don't count on much until then.

• During Sagittarius, you'll get another push you can count on. (Mid - Late December) This is when the "reorganization of your public life" I've mentioned will show the dimensions of what needs to happen to keep this momentum going. (And by then, it may not be a matter of "keeping it going" so much as "getting the hell out of the way" so you don't get run over!)

• February / March 2008 is where you need to set your sights for now. You'll have lots of ingenious help / ideas / directions / freedom available by then that you don't have now. But 'tween now and then, you'll need to assemble the people and circumstances that will provide that for you.

• This month, clearly, is a pivotal month ... but it's also just the beginning. The real show -- and the real progress -- on what you may have in mind gets underway during the first part of next year. Plan accordingly.
