As a rule, the range of Leo covers the time from July 22nd until August 23rd. In Astrology, it is a time of playfulness, speculation, romance, pursuing leisure activities ... and "doing things you love" -- preferably with people you love, too!!

Leo is a Fire sign. Fire signs in Astrology are considered masculine, positive, assertive, active, outgoing, and motivating. They do things, stir things up, take action, go after what they want, make things happen. In addition to Leo, the other two fire signs are Aries and Sagittarius.

Leo is also a Fixed Sign. The Fixed Signs in Astrology are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. These personalities tend to be noticeably stubborn, set in their ways, firm in their opinions, and resistant to change. They display stability, perseverance, resourcefulness, and resolve. When you get done admiring the elegant refreshments someone who knows you well has undoubtedly provided to celebrate the occasion, when you need a break from gathering in the compliments, the congratulations, and all the other admiring attentions of your friends, relatives and any passers-by you can attract into noticing you ... and all the fuss and hubbub ... pull up a comfortable chair and sit down for a minute.

Moreover, Leo is the Fixed Fire sign. Fixed -- as in "set it its ways." Fire -- as in concerned with personal charisma and expression of individual spirit. Put those two qualities together ... and you can see there'll be no changing this emphasis for very long. Leo, for better or worse in his grandstanding and gyrations is being true to himself. And the rest of us get to be ok with that -- and take a page from his book, torn out and presented with a sweeping bow, like a trophy, thankyouverymuch -- if we need it.

The polarity sign -- the "other side of the scale" for Leo is Aquarius, the Fixed Air sign, ruled by Uranus, the indefatigable clown energy of the Zodiac. They can both be quite a handful. We all have Leo energy expressing somewhere in our lives. True, if you don't have a planet in Leo or a major placement, like Leo Rising, your Leo energy is indirect, possibly confined only to the affairs of the house that has Leo on the cusp.

Even if you have the Leo / Aquarius axis intercepted in your chart, you still have Leo energy in your character ... and in your life ... even though it is so private, so closely contained and secluded only you may really perceive its presence at all.
