Help for That Toothache

Dental complications such as a toothache can strike at any time.

Fortunately, there are temporary solutions to relieve any discomfort until you can visit a dentist, which experts say you should do as quickly as possible. Here™s a simple tip to alleviate your discomfort.

To get rid of toothache pain, here™s several things to try:

Rinse the area with warm salty water (approx one quarter to one-half teaspoon to a glass of warm water)

Use clove oil which you can buy at health-food stores and some drug stores. Clove oil helps to numb the sore area.

Cover the tooth with sugar-free gum to minimize contact with food and fluids.

If pain persists you can take ibuprofen, aspirin or acetaminophen as directed until you can get to your dentist. Don™t postpone seeing your dentist as this can cause bigger problems down the road.
