Aspen addresses issues of fear and vague, but chronic
anxiety. It is related to the soul's potentials for fearlessness, coping, and
transformation. These, or course, can be undermined by unconscious anxieties
and fears of indistinct origin.
It is thought these originate in people who are
hypersensitive spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. Being finely
tuned, they may carry information through with them into consciousness which
rightfully belongs in the layer of sub-conscious awareness that separates
dreams from reality. The soul passes through this layer each night during sleep
in order to reach the transpersonal levels of consciousness and contact the
Higher Self. It is during this process that significant spiritual healing
occurs.
Bringing images forward from the Collective
Unconscious without realizing what they are or that this is happening can flood
the conscious existence of such a person with thoughts and images which seem
frightening, threatening, unreal, and literally "fantastic." The Collective
Unconscious is a repository for, among other things, highly symbolic ideas,
over-arching themes found in transpersonal psychological patterns and
development, archetypes, superstitions, and abstract religious concepts.
These clusters of highly charged and influential
energy can be extremely inappropriate in the waking life of a soul who is
unaware of their significance, what they mean, and how to deal with them. These
energies carry images that prompt free-floating fear, anxieties with no
discernible origins, and a chronic condition of emotional and psychological
distress. Often one has a feeling of impending catastrophe without being able
to fix the energy on any specific situation in real life.
In extreme cases, there are even physical symptoms of
fear and apprehension: trembling, nausea, sweating, a "stomach in knots"
feeling, etc. The person may feel haunted by fears s/he can neither name nor
escape ... and may become locked in a situation where contact with the Higher
Self, who could help channel such energy away, is impossible. The stress itself
prevents sufficient relaxation and release to achieve the necessary communion.
The person may sleep-walk, sleep-talk, experience
nightmares and night terrors, awake panic-stricken ... and begin resisting
sleep altogether ... which only aggravates an already hellish problem --
through sleep-deprivation and preventing the very states where Higher Self
contact most easily occurs and can help. This may, in part, explain why some
children demand to sleep with a night light and talk of ghosts and the "boogey
man" who seems disconcertingly real to them.
The person in need of Aspen may develop a fear of the
dark, a fear of being out at night, and resort to superstitious fascinations
with occult and magical concepts or personal rituals of protection ... as a way
of handling their fright. This can happen suddenly and appear at any age.
They may not be able to explain their compulsions ...
but since employing them "helps" them cope, they continue to do so. It may not
occur to them that they are simply over-reacting to their invisible environment
... by looking for causes in their visible one, and, of course, not finding an
explanation there.
They may or may not be aware of their ability to "read
the atmosphere" around them for developing conflicts and problems, and for
discerning the psychic currents in others. In fact, they may not realize they
are likely being caught up in the rushing stream of "other people's stuff" ...
which is far beyond their ability to manage and which simply needs to be
released and discarded rather than fixated on and allowed entry.
Aspen people register everything ... and
before long, their own energies and coping strategies are exhausted. At this
point, everything becomes overwhelming ... from the stress of the
morning commute to the latest news about economic inflation to amorphous
threats of possible nuclear war. Suddenly everything is too possible,
everything is too real, and everything is just awful.
Threats and problems are seen everywhere. Yet there is
no threat terribly imminent, or overly personal, or easily discussed -- which
can be what makes it so fearsome, mysterious, and infuriating, even for the
Aspen person himself. Aspen helps resolve this dilemma, dispels apprehensions
of impending doom or evil, and helps restore faith so that fear is manageable
and even unnecessary.
Acquisition of this level of trust can make it
possible for the person to use their extraordinary sensitivity to advantage --
instead of having it overpower them. One can tune in to these exceptional
levels of consciousness ... consciously!! There, one can explore their
levels and potentials, experience them safely and with discernment, experiment
with them, and then use the new knowledge to good advantage in waking life ...
and to help others in similar situations.
This is especially useful for those working in the
psycho-therapeutic disciplines or those working with parapsychology. Aspen as a
therapy itself may help those caught in addictions, those exposed to violence
and traumatic assault, those gripped by obsessions, and for children who have
been abused. Certain meditation techniques, some occult rituals, and certain
experiences with the psychedelic drugs can lead to conditions requiring Aspen
to remedy their effects.
Aspen essence quiets and subdues the astral body so
that the ego can regain its rightful supremacy in waking life. It helps
re-establish the boundaries that contain that ego energy. It restores and
soothes the soul's innate psychic capacities, allowing the conscious mind to
become again the arbiter and user of information received through these higher
channels. It brings greater strength and confidence. It balances the soul
forces.
It specifically addresses problems of groundless and
unrelenting fear, sudden anxiety attacks, "creepy sensations," delusions, a
hyper-active imagination, fearful fascination with occult experiences,
superstitions, fear of terrible punishment or persecution, fear of being harmed
or swept away by invisible forces, nightmares, catastrophic visions of death,
hell and other religious themes, inability to talk about fears, trembling, and
fears of the dark.
During use of Aspen, it also helps to "stay grounded"
through earth-based hobbies such as pottery making, cooking, gardening, or just
sitting outside in contact with the earth itself. Also, avoid the use of
alcohol and overly-stimulating or anxiety producing situations and
entertainment.
