Frank and Elaine, young and very much in love, wanted to be married as soon as possible. Due to a quirk in the laws, not to mention a lack of cooperation from Elaine's Dad, this meant driving to Gretna Green, in Scotland.

Unfortunately, about twenty miles south of Carlisle a lorry suffered a blowout, causing the trailer to tip over and completely flatten Frank's recently restored 1958 Morris Minor under seventeen tonnes of bananas. Being in the car at the time, Frank and Elaine were included in the flattening process.

Since Frank had always helped little old ladies across the road, and Elaine had knitted bobble hats for Bosnian refugees, and they'd both agreed to wait until they were married, they soon arrived at the Pearly Gates. While waiting in the queue, Frank and Elaine reaffirmed their love for each other, and decided to ask if they could still get married. After some thought, St. Peter agreed to look into this, and asked Frank and Elaine to wait while he organized it.

The pair waited patiently all day, discussing all their hopes and plans. On the second day they started to consider the Eternal aspect of it all. They started to question - if they were allowed to get married in Heaven, should they get married in Heaven? "What if it doesn't work out?" they wondered. "Are we stuck together forever?"

It was near the end of the third day that St. Peter returned, looking fairly exhausted. and informed the couple "Yes, you can get married in Heaven!"

The couple said, "Great! But we were just wondering, what if things don't work out? Can we get a divorce here in Heaven?" St. Peter got red-faced with anger and slammed his clipboard to the ground! Elaine gripped Frank's arm as he timidly said "We're very sorry. What's wrong?"

"Oh, come on!!" yelled St. Peter, "It's taken me three days to find a priest up here in Heaven! Do you have the slightest idea how long it could take to find a lawyer?"

The only thing better than singing is more singing.
