Intuition is your sixth sense... Some other names by which is known include, hunch, gut feeling, instinct, inspiration or brainwave. It is the still small voice that can only be heard in silence. Some people experience it as an inner voice while someone else might see a picture in their mind Sometimes we might get a feeling that something isn't right but are unable to explain why we feel that way.

Getting in touch with our Intuition connects us to our "real self". The self that knows all the answers to all the questions we may have about life and our purpose for being here. It sends messages to the mind and body constantly but most of us are too busy or pre-occupied to hear or don't understand what the signals are. Learning to relax is crucial to developing a greater awareness of our Intuition as well as being grounded. Being grounded is our connection to Mother Earth and fortunately it is really simple to bring ourselves back down to earth through doing something physical like going for a walk in nature or even better run .

In the beginning it may seem as if nothing much is happening and this can be discouraging but it is worth persevering to gain the many benefits that a strong intuitive connection will bring.

The chatter of the mind overwhelms the still small voice and needs to be quieted either through Meditation or giving it something else to focus on. Some people like to Garden or paint while others prefer to cook or sew while allowing their mind to get quiet so that their still small voice can be heard.

We all possess this inner voice and the degree in which we can hear it is dependant on our ability to tune out the other voices of the personality that want to be heard. Some people call this the 'Ego Mind' and it is the voice within that will come up with a list of negative reasons why something can't be done.

It is a bit like a parent or a big brother or sister, always looking out for danger and likes life to be safe and dependable. It loves habit and ritual as it feels comfortable with what is known.

The voice of Intuition speaks a different language and can therefore be difficult to be heard as we are used to listening to Ego talk. It is loving and positive and never scolds or complains. It is very creative and playful and loves to find solutions to problems we may have. It may have more than one answer that will suit and is never in a hurry

When we tune in to our Intuition we are in the flow of life where everyone and everything is in constant motion. We then have access to all the Knowledge and Wisdom that we desire to grow spiritually. We do not have to wait for the perfect time. All we have to do is become willing to accept that our Intuition is always guiding us in higher and better ways than we could possibly imagine. It does not impose any rules or limitations. It is a gentle guiding voice that has only our best interests at heart. It wants us to succeed and enjoy all that life has to offer daily.
