How to Fly into the Flow

"I am getting my ducks in a row." Mary responded without thinking.

It is an amazing phenomenon. It never ceases to bring me pause.

I have observed it with countless individuals, businesses, teachers, churches, non profits and individuals. Entrepreneurs, artists, employees, adults and children. It occurs in any setting.

Most often it lurks and leaps when there is a vision at hand, a dream around the corner, a burning heart's desire that is longing to be brought into fruition.

What happens?

"I am getting my ducks in a row" comes the response.

The wedge of fear lodges its way between the vision and its fruition. The holder of the vision finds the dream more difficult to see as the wedge of fear clouds the dream, eclipsing its light and blocking the rays of possibility which radiate out, sharing its compelling nature.

It risks becoming mantra-like at times. "I am getting my ducks in a row"

Ah, yes. The planning to plan some more and get it all perfect so that the vision will for sure reach its magnificent best. It sounds respectable. Admirable, even.

It is not uncommon that becoming enamored with creating the plan becomes more compelling than putting the plan into play. We continue lining the ducks up, getting them into "just right" form, playing with the formation, concerning ourselves with the most miniscule "What if's" when in actuality, all of it is meaningless until we allow the ducks to fly.

There is a solution.

First, begin to release the wedge of fear through allowing one of the ducks: the one which brings you the most positive feelings, to take the lead.

Second, allow the birds to follow their natural course: flying in a V formation so that they are able to get where they are going exponentially faster, stronger and more effectively than flying alone.

Some brief lessons from our Geese and Swan Teachers.

Canadian Geese are the most famous for flying in a V formation. Scientist S. Sample notes, "The lead bird is creating a turbulance wave that actual assists the birds behind it. The further back you are in the formation, the less energy you need in the flight. Lead birds do rotate to keep exhaustion from happening."

The Geese naturally make this formation. They do not push to make it happen, they share in the leading of the group, and they get where they are going with enough energy to complete the essence of their mission.

Next teachers today are the Swans. Remember the Swan is what the "Ugly Duckling" transformed into as he matured. He was never an ugly duck at all, just like your building rows is not bad or wrong or "ugly", it is simply what you have been doing thus far.

Now that you realize there is another option- a more suitable option for you to bring your dreams and vision into fruition, simply choose this option. Follow the Swan.
