One more reason why I spend so much time online with my marketing efforts is that I have been BANNED from the golf courses here in Arizona by the environmentalists!

Yes, it's true, it's been like this for several years now. You see, it really wasn't my fault ...

One extremely hot summer afternoon, my buddies and I headed off to a local course that is a real beauty. I realize that here in the summer, especially in the afternoon temperatures of 105+ F, it's a little crazy to go golfing (although it COULD explain a few things about me)!

Well, it was when we had time ... and besides, the green fees are much more easy to deal with when it's not in the tourist season.

Now, I must pause to mention that I am a HORRIBLE golfer! My golfing will indeed make even the most basic amateur wince in pain.

So, here we were on the 7th hole. My turn up. I rear back, and I let loose with a swing to put the ball in China. As my club hit the ball, it was apparent instantly that I hit it with my typical right slice!

I watched helplessly as my ball arched off to the right with amazing speed and bopped high off of the trunk of a huge pine tree. Right towards a peaceful little blue lagoon next to the course.

What happened next has now become legend.

A beautiful snow-white duck was out swimming in the center of the water, minding his own business and enjoying his paddling journey, completely oblivious to the flying projectile coming his way!

In horror we all looked on ... and in a luck only I can command, the ball with unintended but astounding accuracy squarely beaned the poor duck on it's little cranium, he never saw it coming!

If the initial impact didn't do him in, the subsequent drowning did. All heads turned my way, mirroring my own opened-mouth shock and disbelief at what we had just witnessed!

That's when THEY showed up ...

Unbeknownst to the environmentalists however, I have since been back once more to the course, a different one, but it had been many years since I had had my "swing of shame". No wildlife was harmed however on that outing, but my pure lousiness at golfing was in my heart confirmed. It was useless to practice with such a "black hole" talent.

That was my final day, and I have utterly rejected golfing, but what's more ... golfing has rejected me!

So I'm sticking with working on the Internet. I figure the online world will tolerate me better, and the outdoors world will be far safer.
