I felt the tears welling in my eyes and the volume of my voice decrease in volume. Not a lot -- I was holding on tight -- but the energy crackled around me. In that moment, I knew my exact why for singing this exact verse in this exact song at this exact phase of my life.

It was a magical combination. Weaving together the incredible singing of the entire cast with the intensity of the lyrics and then completely allowing my emotions to meet the lyrics and meet the movement and meet my voice brought me to a place of transcendent discovery.

Here I was, pointing across the unseen ocean, singing alone center stage. I was singing about that moment when suddenly you realize everything has changed and in a heart beat is dramatically different. Again.

I heard the memory of my voice within as it ricocheted in my head saying. "I am pregnant?" That unbelievable, not at all exuberant moment when I discovered a "wooooops"pregnancy for a no-longer-infertile 38 year old me would drastically alter "my" plans, "my" current aspirations and in fact, my future not only for that moment -- my future for my lifetime and the lifetime of each of my family members.

This realization came as I was center stage singing these particular words for the first time.

I was relieved to realize I could finally, honestly, truthfully and gratefully process some of the "unfinished business" which remained from that time in my life that I have a tendency to gloss over.

And I thought this was about me expanding my skill as an actor and singer.

Yes. It's about that and it's about more, too.

Just like whatever you are doing is about "it" and more.

You simply need to be open to your exact why for (metaphorically) singing your exact verse in your exact song at this exact phase of your life.

It's magical. It's transcendent. I can feel the energy crackling around you. It's beautiful.
