I went to the grocery store as the sun splashed its vivid autumnal montage of texture and beauty across the early morning October sky. The turtleneck cradled my skin, keeping me warm against the finally cool breeze. It gently rocked my breath. I felt so serene " oddly serene for such the mundane activity ahead of me.

My aim was simple: visit the grocery store to purchase some favorite breakfast and lunch foods for my homeschooling children. I have become accustomed to being not only principal, gym teacher, guidance counselor, janitor and lead instructor " I am also cafeteria lady. My busy schedule had lead to an almost bare cupboard, which I was now in the process of restoring.

First stop: the cereal aisle. Special K, two boxes of my favorite cereal were on special for $5.00. The box with six ounces less was nearly a dollar more: it was my first choice because "large packages are more economical."

My heart rejoiced in this simple bargain.

Fruit section. Apples, Katherine's favorite sort " also on sale. Bread " two loaves, sixty nine cents off each loaf. Coffee, bonus buy - $2 off. Cinnamon, this particular brand " on clearance.

The entire shopping expedition was like that. I wanted something, it cost less than would be expected.

I left the store with the receipt in my hand outlining my nearly $17 in savings. I bought 18 items and 16 were at reduced prices. I neatly and simply made $48 into $65 just like that " simply by purchasing exactly what I wanted " which were "coincidentally" all at reduced prices.

I started humming, "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. A big smile covered my face. I never knew grocery shopping could be so heavenly.

Who said money doesn't expand upon request?

"Feels so fine"¦.

Who said you can't have exactly what you want, down to the most minute detail?

How sweet it is

Who said it has to be "hard" to save money?

I want to stop and thank you baby

Who ever could have believed the Universe doesn't deliver specifically to me?

How sweet it is to be loved by you

I smiled up at the deep blue sky as the soft wind gently kissed my face.

How sweet it is to be loved by me.
