If you see cobwebs inside of my home, there's a reason why. Don't just assume that I am a horrible housekeeper or that I am afraid of them. I may not like to have them on me, but they are one of God's creatures and I give them respect.

When I'm cleaning and dusting, I see their webs, so delicate and full or creativity. They have worked so hard to make this masterpiece.

Who am I to destroy it in an instant?

I think of how much time it must have taken to meticulously spin its intricate beauty. Its purpose is to catch food for her and her family. As I watch I think of my children and how hard life can be and with its complexities.

Each time, her web is torn down she builds another one, never giving up. I know some may think I am a bit fanatical and this is my house, not the spiders. I choose to share the outside with them and many times when I see a particularly large web, I will just stand and watch the mini universe inside it. I will even apologize if I accidentally tear one down, understanding that sometimes I must.

I learn many lessons watching the spider at work, they have patience beyond measure and they never waste. Each spider has a different kind of web with its own design and a story is told with each one.

Our lives are full of webs, woven from the day we're born. Catching many things within them, just like a dream catcher.

Her diligence is inspiring and often I will choose to spend time with my family, instead of cleaning that day or keeping myself busy with mundane things that can wait. The spider has taught me how easily life can be torn down in just a minute or with the winds of change that may blow our way.

So, if you come to my home and you see Spider webs, don't just assume I am ignoring them. But see that I respect all living things and you may just find there's a message waiting for you in a spider's web too.
