Life ... and many things that involve and support life ... operate on the balloon principle. You start with emptiness and add energy. Gradually, there is a swelling, creation, a progress toward fulfillment that occurs in stages and increments ... until finally within a short range of acceptable limits, the result is complete.

Anything less ... and there is a puniness, even a sickliness, in the final product that cries out for that extra effort whose addition will bring perfection, and the vision that began with the motive behind that first exhaled breath will arrive at its intended result.

Anything more ... is dangerous.

Doing too much of the very thing that brought success in the first place puts the whole structure at risk.

One too many breaths explodes everything back to nothing, to ruin ... and you have to start again with a new balloon and a bit more caution and wisdom this time.
