Virtually every religion, major mystical philosophy, and occult science subscribes to this one idea as a common principle: There is unity in the universe.

If that is true, and it appears to be, it explains why things like forecasts and predictions are possible in one area of life when you decipher the trends, patterns, and occurrences in other areas of life.

If we accept, for whatever reason, the notion that all things merge into one, then everything is a mirror of everything else, and by looking at what is contained in the reflection, you can discover information about the parts of your immediate world that are too close for direct observation. In other words, you can never see your own face directly, but you can know what you look like by looking at your image reflected back to you by an object that will hold a faithful likeness, a representation authentic enough to trust. We do this all the time.

Astrology uses the movement and positions of celestial bodies to describe events occurring in human affairs and in individual lives. Palmists see patterns, traits, and events in the lines and structures of a person's hand. Physicists tell us everything contains its own vibration - which it resonates and through which it affects everything else in the world. Tarot card readers use synchronicity, the principle of meaningful coincidence, to predict the most likely outcome of an event or issue under examination. Numerologists work with numbers - and the vibration and qualities that each of them contain.

There are a number of fun and fascinating things that can be done with numbers and what they represent in the way of vibrations and personal characteristics. In a series of articles here in the Numerology Notes section I plan to describe a few. With a pencil and paper - or a calculator in this modern age - and a little patience and elementary math, you may gain some genuine insight into corners of your character you hadn't considered before, perhaps. At the very least, you may gain a bit of food for thought.
