Numbers, Numbers Everywhere

It's true. Numbers are all around you. In your phone number, your Social Security number, your checking account number, your address, your birthday, even your age. Also, when you consider that any word -- like your name -- can be reduced to a number by converting the letters to numbers and adding them up, the possibilities become almost infinite.

Applying numerology then becomes a way of understanding yourself and your world more profoundly, more completely. In fact, specific combinations even relate specific information, like a secret code unlocking the mysteries of a wealth of details in your life.

Numbers, like everything else in the world, are associated with an energy vibration. That vibration resonates and magnetizes certain other energies, certain other numbers, both like itself and compatible with itself. As in music, the various vibrations can produce attraction, connection, harmony ... and dissonance.

Your personal numbers create a pattern for the flow of energy in your life To understand that pattern is to be able to live in accordance with yourself, your natural being-ness, and the environment of energy around you. You -- specifically.

Your personal numbers are a wellspring of strength, power, talent, expression, knowledge, understanding, and healing that lift your awareness and broaden your perspectives. In Astrology, we say, "As above, so below" ... as a shorthand way of saying that what exists in the heavens is mirrored on earth, because there is unity in the universe. In Numerology, the concordance is, "As without, so within." What exists in your outer world can provide important clues to understanding your inner self.

Being aware of the energy vibrations around you can help you maximize your potential for expression -- by harmonizing and using the energies that work best for you. More importantly, they can help you change things that aren't supportive of you and who you are into a more harmonious pattern and eliminate or modify at least that source of possible friction in your life.

Numerology is concerned primarily with the single digit numbers we all know as soon as we are taught to count. 1 through 9. There was a time when just getting that far, you know, was an accomplishment.

Each single number has a special vibration -- a special type of energy associated with it, and the combinations of these form the foundation for this interesting and informative tool.

There are also number combinations that have especially important meanings -- Master Numbers, which depict a soul with a particular mission to accomplish in this life, and Karmic Numbers, which show problems and deficiencies one is working to overcome.

We need, of course, to understand the meanings of these basic building blocks of energy in order to work with and understand them ... and that's what we'll start accomplishing now. The previous article here, Numerology -- Adding up the Sum Total of You gives you information on how to find the five main numbers in your numerology profile and the chart in the beginning of this article tells you how to convert letters into numbers ... and therefore names into numbers.

There will eventually be an article on each of these numbers individually ... and there are already some numerology articles with directions for finding your Life Path Number and a description of each.

EXAMPLE

Meanwhile for those of you interested in working out your other numbers ahead of time ... use the table at the beginning of this article that I mentioned to convert the letters of your name into a number for the various applications ... and preview the basic tone of those energies in the descriptions that follow.

Convert the letters of your birth name to numbers and add the digits until you reduce things down to a single numeral to determine your Destiny Number.
