Writing Your Creative Autobiography

The most intriguing thing happened on my way to a Networking Message Board post. I was planning to write something about my upcoming classes and instead I ended up writing a very short, to the point creative autobiography.

I had more than one a-ha in the process which made me think of you.

It is very empowering to share our life stories when we can use our stories to shine the light. To dwell in the "a-ha's" and the wonder of life itself. It is like the amazement in, as in the words of Kahlil Gibran, life begetting more life.

What "life" is the light already present in your life wanting to "beget" or bring forth today?

Begin the process by writing your own creative autobiography.

Here, unedited, is what I wrote using free flow writing, which I posted to the message board. It is my writing autobiography.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted to write. So she wrote. And she wrote. And she wrote. She wrote stories and told them to her assembled toys. She wrote and illustrated books which were made from notebook paper and bound together with trash bag twist ties.

She wrote poetry and jammed the elementary school newspaper with submissions.

She always did well when it came to writing papers " she always giggled in delight when the main part of the grade was writing a paper because she knew she would do well.

So if all this is so rosey, why did this little girl fail one class in high school... and that class was Journalism?

And why did this little girl grow up and stop writing?

The "F" in Journalism came when the little girl felt constricted by the context of the writing and stopped showing up for class.

She stopped writing when she stopped showing up at the page with her pencil in hand, ready to write.

And then a miracle occurred.

She gave birth to a child who died.

That child gave the now grown little girl the courage to pick up the pencil again, to write poetry. To become a writer of words to touch the hearts of other people who had also given birth to children who had died, and eventually " that gift spread into writing for people who had experienced loss in general " and eventually, that gift spread to writing for people who simply wanted to experience growth in their hearts and souls and minds.

This now grown up little girl continued to say "Yes!" to her soul's long, she continued to say "Yes!" for whatever was to be and in saying that "Yes!" she heard she was also supposed to be a bridge for other people who were longing to say "Yes!" to the longing in their souls.

This grown up little girl even created a way that people could say "Yes!" to their souls through using writing to free themselves AND to grow their businesses at the very same time.

Is your soul nudging you to join in the chorus saying "Yes"?

The grown up little girl's soul hears your soul.
