3. We actually propel negativity, lack and scarcity--add to the decrease -- because our original complimenter may choose to no longer be so lavish in praise because his or her opinion doesn't count. Both of these are untrue AND we helped solidify that false belief through our minimizing action.

Choose to add to the increase not only for yourself, for the person complimenting you AND the people they will compliment in the future after being so gracefully received by you.

4. We add to the decrease through blocking the gifts which were to come from each incident we choose to deflect or turn away. Choose to receive the gifts with open arms, open mind and an open heart.

Without making these simple choices, there may be compliments in their minds which you never hear.

Starting today, choose to accept the beauty others see in you so that you can apply the teaching within the compliment.

There is something wonderful-- something beyond your imagining wanting to be brought about especially by you that no one else can bring into manifestation.

In the words of Martha Graham: "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is on a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."

As you begin to open yourself to compliments, gracefully accepting and inviting them, that vitality, that life force, that quickening that connects you to the divine will begin to ring with clarity and trueness.

No longer will your actions and your statements be mismatched like Eloise's shoe tying.

You will realize over time that you have indeed become more alive.
