Chalk filled erasers. Coat rooms. Going home mid day for lunch. Debates about who is better: the Beatles or the Monkees. Dodgeball. Number 2 pencils.

These are some of the things that fill my memories of my time at Linden Avenue School. Oh, yes. I also remember the academics. The Mary, Mike and Jeff books. Learning about Australian native culture in social studies. And then there was Math.

Towards the end of elementary school, we learned a concept in our Math class using the words "Greater than" or "Less than". We would learn how to write them via Math code looking something like this 3 + 6 > 2 + 1. I remember a trick one of my teachers taught me. The opening always faces the larger number.

Frequently the questions would have an equation on one side and an equation on the other and the point to consider was the relationship between the two equations. Is this one Greater than, Less than, or Equal to the other one?

My studies of today don't include the classrooms at Linden Avenue School.

They do include significant solutions to mind benders as well as distinguishing the creation of greater than and less than in my world.

What would the world look like if everyone decided that in each 24 hour period, we would personally create a "Greater Than" scenario in our individual lives? That every Tuesday would be significantly greater than every Monday?

No, I am not talking about living in a world where only good stuff happens. Although that might be interesting, it might get monotonous.

Instead, what if people understood what it meant to have richness and fullness and abundance and prosperity even when the not so good stuff happens?

The day's outcome is truly measured not by the events that occur, it is measured by your response to the events that occur.

We know that every single action and inaction is a choice.

We also know that our response to every action and inaction is a choice.

So in every day, your world can be greater on Thursday than it was on Wednesday when you choose to be a seeker instead of a hider. When you choose to be a builder, not a bury-er. When you choose to be victorious instead of victimized.
