Bless, Hold and Love Again and Again and Again

The streets pulsated with prosperity and abundance: a richness, a flavorfulness that for some reason previously went unnoticed. My neighborhood is among the prettiest in Bakersfield with its rolling hills and mature landscape. Still, it IS Bakersfield-- right?

Just like that knee-jerk thought, "It IS Bakersfield" sometimes we get so stuck in believing one way or another that we miss gloriousness right as it unfolds under our nose.

As I walked down a street lined with beautiful gardens, fragrant trees, the humming of birds and reverberating sounds from a chiming clock tower I noticed a real estate sign in front of one of the houses.

The name of the realtor who was selling the house took me by surprise: she has the same name as a woman I know from an online community.

I took it as a nudge to pray for the woman by that name who I know. It wasn't a lengthy drawn out blessing, but it was a heartfelt one that I held as I walked along the street, enjoying the surroundings and getting my dose of exercise.

It felt so excellent that I took a moment to pray for the woman's co-moderator and some others I knew from the community-- and I just kept allowing names to pop into my consciousness and all the way home I blessed and prayed for different people--anyone who landed in my mind was blessed and held in my heart--even people I did not know beyond their names.

Later in the week I took this to a higher level of intention. I started praying today with a goal of praying for 100 people today. My eventual vision is to pray for up to 100 people a day, different people. People I know and don't know, people from all ends of the earth and with all different belief systems.

At one moment I was cranky, feeling something like a slightly soiled wash cloth all wrung out and still slightly damp and with a slightly unpleasant odor sitting unused on the kitchen counter. To counter my own feelings of unpleasantness I decided to pray.

I chose to simply bless and hold other beings. I had my intention: 100 people. Now it was time to put that intention into action.

I took out my list of subscribers and started sending energy, holding each person in my thoughts. I prayed for each person by name and email address or email addresses alone. I prayed for for comfort, for love. I prayed for giving and receiving, for knowledge and application. I prayed for each person to experience abundance and prosperity.

As I blessed through 25 names and 50 names and 75 names, I felt my heart lighten. I noticed my breathing was deeper and richer. Each person was held in my hands, each email address was viewed with care and considered with joyful strength.

Maybe you felt something. Maybe your name hasn't come up yet.

I noticed my crankiness evaporated.

This morning during another walk I decided to pray for my one hundred people as I exercised. I prayed for the occupants of 73 homes along my path. Grey homes, white homes, yellow homes. Homes with bright trim and crape myrtles and palm trees. Homes with tricycles and lawn art and wind chimes.

At times I paused in front of a home and paused: holding and blessing that particular home for longer than the others. I smiled as I passed the homes that held people I knew by name and blessed them individually.

My being pulsated with prosperity and abundance: a richness, a flavorfulness that for some reason previously went unnoticed. Or perhaps more accurate to say would be that it previously went unmanifested or not tapped into completely.

The gloriousness of this experience is for you to apply as well. You might not call it "prayer" you may send energy, or send positive thoughts or request blessings. What carries the most importance is your heartfelt giving, your loving intention.
