What is the one thing that, if you got to the end of your life and hadn't done it, you would regret? What is Spirit gently whispering in your ear "Do me, do me" only to be dismissed as not as important as other things that need doing in your life? What is it that you yearn to do, dream about doing, but never make a high priority?

For me, it is writing. I love to write! I cannot not write. I have a stack of journals two feet high to attest to that. For me, writing is one of the most satisfying things I do. And yet, it's the one thing I'm likely to put aside when lifes demands call on me.

I have at least two books in me, and countless articles begging to be written. Every day that little voice is whispering in my ear "Write me, write me." I'm so thankful that it never gives up, because I know that if I get to the end of my life and haven't written myself empty, I will regret it.

God plants the desires and dreams in our hearts and gently encourages us to fulfill them. What dreams has God planted in your heart? What is inside you begging to be manifested? Is it a piece of art, a business, writing a book, traveling to ???? What does Spirit whisper in your ear to do? Are you listening? If so, where is it in your life's priorities? What are the things that consistently take precedence over it?

Take an honest look at each thing you've allowed to have a higher priority than your dreams and ask yourself "If I get to the end of my life and haven't done this, will I regret it?" Are your higher priorities something like keeping a perfectly clean house, spending more time at the office, or perhaps working more to earn more money to buy more stuff? What are you allowing to be more important than your dreams?

There's only one way to make your dreams a reality and that is to make them a high priority. We always have time to spend on our highest priorities.

I am tired of letting other, less important, things usurp my writing. I am fed up with feeling the dissatisfaction that comes from not listening to and following Spirit. I am choosing to make writing a higher priority in my life. When I get to the end of my life, I want to be able to say, "I did it -- I wrote myself empty"!

In line with my commitment to make writing a higher priority, beginning today, One of a Kind News will be published on a weekly basis. The articles will be shorter so as not to overwhelm you nor overtax me.

I suspect that making this commitment to writing more will challenge me in many ways. It's one thing to make a commitment and another to uphold it. What will it take to make writing a high priority in my life and keep it there? I have some ideas about what it's going to take and I assume there are things that I haven't even thought of.

What I know for sure is that the first step is to make the space for my writing. We all have 24 hours a day and we choose how to fill it. We can't add time, but we can clear space by prioritizing what's most important and doing only those things.

How about you? What are your priorities? Are you considering moving your dreams to a higher level on your priority list? I hope so. What I want for you is that when you get to the end of your life, there is nothing that you regret not having done.
