5. Ask people out.

If you feel a spark of interest for someone you meet, don't pass up the opportunity. Ask that person out! It's easy. Simply say: "Would you be interested in going out with me?" or "Are you available for a date?" or as a last resort "Hey Babe, are you taken?" Don't let the opportunity slide by or you will be knocking yourself in the head wondering if you just let Mr. or Mrs. Right slide through your fingers.

6. Enroll in a legitimate, high quality dating service.

Do some research and ask others if they know of or have participated in any dating services they liked. There are a lot of wonderful online match making services, and written publications wherein you have the opportunity to get to know the other person before actually going on the first date with him or her.

This way, you can at least find out if you and this other person are even compatible enough to enjoy dating each other before sharing your first order of shrimp cocktail.

7. Smile a lot, laugh a lot, and see the humor in every situation.

Happy, smiling, laughing people are magnets to everyone around them. Every single living person loves to be in the company of a happy person. Start seeing the humor in every situation and you will be like nectar to a honey bee. You'll have eligible dating partners literally swarming around you.

8. Be attentive to other people.

No one wants to go out with someone who doesn't appear to be attentive and engaging. When you relate to people, really listen to them, and make direct eye contact with them when one of you is speaking. It's okay to talk, but let the other person have a word in edgewise from time to time, too.

Even if the person you're engaging with is not a potential dating partner, when you show this person you care enough to engage with him or her, the more apt this person will be to recommend you to other single available friends and acquaintances.

So, the more you truly focus on and care about others, the more attention you will automatically attract to yourself.

9. Be real.

The truth is, people can really smell fakeness a mile away. Don't pretend to like something you don't like. Don't try and change yourself to fit into any crowd. Don't fake a smile, or laugh inauthentically if you don't perceive something to be funny.

If you're being a fake, then guess who you'll attract as a date? You've got it -- another FAKE. Be yourself. Be REAL. You are a special, unique individual, and that's more than enough!

10. Be in a state of continued self improvement.

No one wants to date someone who is negative or constantly complaining (particularly about their Exes). Also, no one wants to date someone who describes their work or their life as "Same old, same old." It sounds like Mold! Who wants to go out with MOLD?

Always strive to improve yourself and reach for your next level of development. By the way, no matter how good you may be, there's always room for improvement. Work on improving your attitude and outlook on life, on helping and engaging with other fellow human beings, and on living an inspiring, fulfilling life.

By doing so, not only will you be improving the quality of your own life, but you will automatically attract a dating partner who thinks and acts the same way.
