I take a special spin on that: instead of apologetically lamenting, "I think I have ADHD!" these folks can trumpet to the world, "I am an incredible plate spinner!". Spinning lots of plates takes a special talent that not everyone has!

Personally, if I followed many of the time management guru's suggestion of working on only one task at a time I would soon either be sleeping or no longer in business. It is not my bent to work that way. Instead, I use tools like my timer to keep me focused (spend an hour lasering in on a specific task and when it rings, move to the next thing on the list).

Experiment with different techniques. Look to your coach or other respected, experienced people for methods which may work for you.

4. Instead of working from a "To-Do List", create from a "Possibilities List". With Possibilities, your activities are not cast in stone and you can not punish yourself for not doing it all! On the other hand, having possibility lists that will stretch you are an excellent thing.

I keep a folder of "Bonus Items" in addition to my possibility list. It is always ready to be taken out if I get stuck on an earlier task or I complete everything on my possibility list. I work with actual physical folders so I can move my lists in and out and create new ones. Right now my Possibility list is made up of 9 "cloud symbols" where I write in my possibilities each night before I go to bed. I enjoy the look of it. For some reason it makes my heart sing more than a numbered list.

Same stuff, different focus. It makes ALL the difference in the world.

5. Live in a Judgement Free Zone. If you hear yourself criticizing yourself because you are not as far along with your time management (or LIFE!) as you would like because you are not doing just what your office mate Marjorie is doing STOP right there.

Have a buddy system in place where you can call someone you trust and value their opinions. Ask them simply, "What are three things I have done exceptionally well in the past week?" Prepare them ahead of time by meeting on Monday morning for breakfast or coffee and agree that you will provide this support as you both work towards masterfully managing your time. Let him or her know you will be asking the specific question so the answer is RIGHT there ready to be given to you by another human being when you most need it.

6. Agree to take "building blocks" of action and agree to stay the course. And yes, this sounds familiar because it is where we started. This agreement will be ongoing. With each success you are taking it to a higher and higher plane. As you spread your time management wings, your building blocks will become more ornate. More fancy. More gloriously you.
