Dynamic Principles to Make
Your Wildest Dreams Come True

Know and accept your weaknesses and faults (we all have them), but even more so your strengths, abilities and gifts. Build on your strengths and try to minimize or improve on your weaknesses; however work more on your strengths.

An honest, objective analysis of yourself is the first step in preparing you for success and realizing your dreams. Celebrate you for just being you, a unique creation. "Each one of us has been uniquely created by God and within each of us, we have certain special "instincts" or "natural tendencies/strengths/inclinations" towards certain things.

How Do You Find ...
Your Calling In Life

What is important to know is you will never find that true satisfaction doing "just" what you want to do. There's something inside of all of us that says I've gotta do what that calling is on my life. What are the gifts and talents and abilities that have been given you in life? That will help you identify what your specific calling is.

Better Aging

My friend who retired last year from years on Wall Street tells me, "I have to watch very carefully how I spend my money. I don't know how to do anything."

One of the reasons people find retirement challenging, is also the solution to the problem of better aging: we identify with roles in our lives. Worse than that, we enjoy them. They're what our life is all about or we wouldn't have been doing them in the first place.

Now my friend certainly knows how to do things. He can cook his breakfast, he's an attentive father, he knows how to mow the lawn. But to his way of thinking, now that he's no longer a broker, he "doesn't know how to do anything."

Always Do the Hardest Thing First

When you procrastinate, you lose. You lose time, energy, self-esteem, goodwill, trust, and timely solutions. Because my mom held firm, I learned that it was best to go ahead and get it over with. Of course you do that a few times and the relief you get will be its own motivation. Instead of that "little" nagging feeling that saps your energy more than you know, you're free to fly!

If someone keeps coming along behind you (or if you're doing this for your child, or report, or partner), the lesson will not be learned. You'll be reinforcing the whining and procrastinating.

20 Ways One Person Can Change the World

How can one person change the world? If not the entire world ... then one person's world? By taking positive action! Look around your community! There are needs every day ... on every block. And you don't have to be rich, talented or even "connected" to meet them.

You just have to be willing to do a small amount or give a small amount every month. But that small amount can make a big difference in someone's life. Here are some things you can do for $50 to change someone's world.

Seven Steps to
Making a Difference in an Indifferent World

We live in troubled times where our peace and safety are often in danger. Most feel helpless and unable to affect the unfolding events in our present world. And yet many are uniting their minds, energy and actions in order to create a peaceful and safe world with dignity for all.

Some groups work politically while others spiritually or socially. Some focus on the poor or refuges, others on human rights, some on the politicians themselves who seem to be making the decisions. During this period of our evolution, it is so important that each of us makes his or her personal statement through thoughts words and actions.

Be Open to Opportunities

Opportunities often come disguised in many different shapes and forms. Some are obvious, while others arrive disguised as hard work, difficulties or obstacles that arise throughout life.

Whenever, and wherever, there is a problem -- your own or someone else's -- there is also the seed of opportunity disguised within the problem. Do you see these as opportunities?

7 Steps to Make It Happen

Identify it. The southern expression for that is "Name it and Claim it". What do you really want? Be specific. Not, "I want a job that will pay my bills". Instead -- "I want to work as a Store Manager making $XXX per month."

Also try to look past the obvious goal, and connect to the feeling you are really looking for. "I want to be able to feel safe with my money, not just each month but for the future." Sometimes you can let go of a specific goal and find another way to get the same feeling.

How to Manage a Transition Successfully

I work with clients in transition. Some of the transitions are chosen, such as retirement. Others are involuntary transitions such as losing a job or being forced to change careers because of a disability.

We all have a different "set point" for our ability to handle changes. It has to do with our natural temperaments, and also the way change and ambiguity were handled when we were children. Why "ambiguity?" Because more than anything else, transitions involve the unknown.

Out of Sight, Not Necessarily Out of Mind

When we talk about clutter, we are usually talking about the clutter that we can see: the piles of paper, the messy counter tops, clothes strewn on furniture. Very often, the way we deal with that clutter is to put it inside something: boxes, closets, and drawers. Or we move it to the far corners of our universe: the garage, the attic or the basement.

Are You Using The One-Two Punch?

Have you ever noticed? There are some people who seem to know exactly what they want and how to get it. They move toward their targets with precision, and appear to achieve easily without goals or planning. They have a narrowed focus and motivation, reasons for doing what they do. They don't even have a set of written goals, yet they move through life attaining what they go after.

Then, there are some of us that need the strategies, the written goals and plans of action, and great role models to follow. Neither is good or bad, right or wrong. There are just different needs for different people. This article is for those of us who need the latter.

The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth: The Surprising, Unbiased Truth About What You Should Eat and Why
By
Jonny Bowden
Especially around the first of every year, people talk about "eating healthier." It often comes tied to talk about losing weight, working out, getting fit ... the kinds of things that go on New Year's Resolution lists every year -- and last a few weeks before being dumped again in favor of one's old habits -- which presumably were unhealthy and needed to change.

But old habits die hard ... and usually the desire to change isn't nearly as strong and stubborn as the routines and preferences it's up against.

The fact is, if you want something badly enough, you'll do it. And if you're reading this essay, somewhere, somehow, something in side you wants a healthier diet. You'd just like it to be easy -- so you stand a fighting chance at making it happen without the pain, misery, sense of deprivation and inconvenience which teams up with the power of your old habits and forms an unbeatable alliance.

What's On Your Personal Priority List?

What are the three top priorities in your life? The absolute three most important things that you consider the essential business of your life? Ok ... what are the TEN top priorities in your life? Which question do you have the most trouble with? Coming up with ten ... or narrowing things down to only three? Both lists are important, because of course the top three -- will certainly be included on your top ten. But from time to time the top three will change. In fact, from time to time BOTH lists will change. Items get dropped. Items get added. Opportunities -- or crises -- arise ... and things in your world shift to accommodate these.

Dreams change their focus. Goals are achieved -- or abandoned, and become "former goals." Relationships strengthen ... and dissolve. Births and deaths occur. Life is a kaleidoscope -- always intricate and multi-faceted, always in motion, some moments breathtakingly lovely ... others not so much. Yet through it all a set of underlying values guides us ... and helps us make choices. Small choices ... huge decisions. Routine maintenance ... and life-altering alternatives.

7 Easy Steps to Achieve Your Goals

We all have something in life that we want to achieve. But there is a difference between those who achieve their dreams and those who just keep on dreaming. The difference is setting a goal and making it happen. Just wanting something and dreaming about it is not enough. Everyone can dream. Not everyone can make their dream a reality.

We just saw Michael Phelps achieve his dream of winning 8 gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. How did he do it? Well I can tell you he did more than just dream about it. He sat down with his coach and set goals. We heard him speak about a piece of paper that had his goals for the Beijing Olympics. He didn't tell us what they were, not even after the games were over. What he did say when asked what was on that sheet of paper "pretty much what you saw".

Are You Stuck?

Anytime you decide to do something new, you are stepping outside "the cave of the familiar" into unknown territory where you are likely to experience some form of fear. And this sense of discomfort is so strong, you'll do anything to avoid it. Typical tricks include avoidance, delay, or "over-thinking"...

"Over-thinking" is when you continue to think about making a decision, long after you've actually decided! What you're really doing is creating a safe mental environment for yourself. By constantly thinking about something, it becomes familiar, and so you start to feel comfortable around it. The problem with "over-thinking" is that it doesn't move you forward one tiny bit, and only results in wasted time and lost opportunities. Ultimately, a decision is not a decision until it's acted upon. Until that point, it remains a dream.

Why 'Idle Hands' Create Stagnation in Our Lives

You've probably heard the phrase, "Idle hands are the devil's tools" -- meaning if you don't have something to keep you busy, you're likely to get into trouble. That can be argued of course, since the intent to cause trouble probably has to be present also.

However, the concept itself does hold some truth regarding what we create in our lives. If it's true that we get back what we put out (into the universe), then it's easy to see why "idle hands" would be a bad thing for us. Life on this planet is an exercise in creating our own reality. Moment to moment, we are making decisions. Whether we act or don't act, we are putting forth our intent.

Secrets To Staying Motivated Until You Succeed

For a lot of us our work schedules at home and at our jobs have been a major source of complications in our lives. Our financial well being depends on our paycheck, and our mental and emotional well-being depends in part on having a well-organized life. But a few simple changes in your life can show you how to stay motivated until you succeed.

Passion + Purpose = Action

Wanna really turn up the heat in your life? Then use the crucial ingredient essential to turning dreams into reality -- that's action. Without placing a cake in the oven, all the mixing, folding and combination of ingredients won't get you a finished cake. It's ACTION that produces the final results. Let's focus in on taking the action steps necessary to live our lives full of passion and purpose.

Initiating Change

Initiating change is difficult. It's not easy to do something different and chart a new course. Not only is it difficult because of the fear you might experience as well as the energy required to envision, plan, and take new actions; you will also hear the naysayers in your life telling you the fears they have for you and how they feel about what you should be doing with your life. Other people prefer the status quo as much as you. No, change requires a personal commitment to yourself and to creating something better.

Although initiating change on your own behalf is challenging, it is the easier and softer way. If you ignore the signs or postpone change you know you need to take, the universe will force you into change. When change is needed, the universe gives you a little tap on the shoulder. It's that sense you get that something needs attention. You avoid or deny it. You procrastinate; hoping things will spontaneously get better or be different. Then, the tap becomes a nudge, and then it smacks you so hard you can no longer avoid taking action. The "smack" might come in the form of an illness or death of someone close or perhaps a layoff. The universe will get its way.

You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!: The Classic Self-Help Book for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder
By
Kate Kelly, Peggy Ramundo
At first glance, it would seem that positive thinking and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) have nothing to do with one another. But many of us with ADD develop negative thinking patterns because we become frustrated by our challenges and frequent feelings of being overwhelmed. This negative outlook then makes it even harder for us to manage those challenges and move forward.

Practicing positive thinking allows people with ADD to focus on our strengths and accomplishments, which increases happiness and motivation. This, in turn, allows us to spend more time making progress, and less time feeling down and stuck. The following tips provide practical suggestions that you can use to help you shift into more positive thinking patterns:

Getting Your Power Back

During many years of observing others and myself searching for fulfillment, I've noticed an essential ingredient is often missing. I call this ingredient sovereignty, self-sufficiency or total independence from outside sources. Without this quality in its authentic form, no one I know has been able to achieve the happiness, health and peace they are seeking.

Throughout the years of assisting others and myself to feel truly joyous and free, I've watched people try to ignore, deny, invalidate or rationalize away the importance of sovereignty. I've witnessed friends and clients attempt to fake it, substitute for it, and try to steal and borrow it from others. All these efforts have been in vain. Their time, energy and intention would have been put to better use by focusing on allowing this quality to become a solid, personal reality.

Reflections on Personal Responsibility

Responsibility means being accountable for what we think, say, and do. Personal responsibility involves working on our own character and skill development rather than blaming others for situations and circumstances. It means choosing to design a life that honors our values and purpose. You cannot control all the circumstances in life; however, you can learn from them. You can choose to allow every circumstance to make you stronger, wiser, more knowledgeable, more skillful, and more loving. You can control your ability to design your life and your philosophies. A philosophy of personal responsibility allows you to live from an inner core of integrity. It will bring a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Less Talk, More Action!

It is time for less talk and more action -- loving action. Loving actions are those actions that support our highest good and the highest good of others. Loving actions are those actions that are motivated by love rather than by fear. Many people who have been on a path of personal and spiritual growth have spent a lot of time talking. Talking with friends about what is wrong and what they want. Talking with therapists about their past and their beliefs. Talking with a mate about what needs changing. They have explored and explored and talked and talked -- and not much has changed.

Ways to Motivate Yourself
When You Just Don't Feel Like It

Achieving the really big goals and dreams always involves breaking it down into do-able little steps. Assuming that you've picked a goal or dream that you really love working at, then most of the steps are a delight to take. No matter how much you love your dream and no matter how much you love your work, there are going to be tasks along the way that you really don't want to do. Those pieces of work that we hate doing can be the very ones that sabotage our success. How do you stay motivated during those parts of the journey?

Courage Quotes to Restore Your Passion

Use your creativity to dive more deeply into the courage within the quote. Write the quote across the top of a blank page (or on the top of a document) and simply write your response to it. One caveat: intend to stay focused on the light -the courage - and do not unconsciously fall into a writing with fear as the focus. Now - take these ideas and read these quotes from a heartful, open space and begin to attract and develop even more courage than you have right now.

What Is a Boundary?

Setting a boundary is not easy. A boundary is not about telling another person what to do. It is about telling another person what YOU will do in the face of the other's continued unkind or undesirable behavior. While it is hard for most people to accept, we cannot control another's behavior. What we can control is our own response in the face of others' behavior. A boundary is about telling your truth and taking action on it.

Simple Ways To Guarantee Your Success

Things do not change until you change. Doing nothing is not an option in case you actually think it is. The trend will continue and reach its natural conclusion until you change the trend. What will happen if you do not change your approach? Year after year you will become more and more frustrated and bitter. You could easily adopt the world view that nothing ever works out for you and before long you will spend most of your time with other negative people.

Trust In The Moment, And Trust In Yourself

You ARE capable. Give yourself the opportunity to excel by trusting in the moment and trusting in yourself. Wait calmly, and you will find that the necessary answers appear before you. Little by little ... with lots of practice ... and endless patience. Only move when the moment is right. Breathe deeply and begin at the beginning.

Tools For Enforcing Personal Boundaries

Has anyone ever spoken to you in an inappropriate manner? Often people are caught off guard and are not prepared to handle these challenging situations. But, as a leader, whenever you are in a situation that's uncomfortable, it's imperative that you speak up; the person needs to know that the behavior is inappropriate and that you will not tolerate it. Being a leader means that you expect the best of those around you and you hold them to the higher standard.

The Secret Motivation Strategy That Never Fails

No matter how much you want to make your dreams come true you still need some practical ways to keep yourself motivated over the long term. You need the ability to keep going in the face of setbacks, disappointments and short-term frustrations.

What's on Your Shift List?

A Shift List is simply a list of activities and attitudes that have the power to shift you from feeling blue to feeling new. Your Shift List is any way you devise to remind yourself of the actions that have the power to transform your mood and put you back on a roll. Your reminders might be a formal written list or journal, a set of well-placed post-its or notes, pictures or photos, cartoons or symbols, poems or songs-or a phone or email "shift" partner. When your aliveness begins to fade, you can consult your "list" to trigger actions that will get you back on track and into the Zone!

How To Do Everything

Strive, work hard, and apply yourself at every activity, but keep in mind that being the best requires a great deal of time, focus, and energy that you may not be able to commit if you're going in 100 different directions. Success is rarely a solo adventure. Surround yourself with successful, encouraging, and uplifting people who will inspire and support you as you pursue your dreams. After all, once you make your dreams come you, you'll want to share them with someone.

Are You Going Where You Want to Go?

Acknowledge yourself for every effort you have made over the past 4 months, regardless of the outcome. For some, just getting through tough times was quite an accomplishment. Recognize and celebrate the ways you showed up for life, and congratulate yourself for all you have done. Take time to fully experience the sense of accomplishment for each and every success, no matter how large or small. With renewed goals and revised action plans, you can increase momentum and excitement by frequently visualizing your success. You can even write out your own success story to help you stay committed and focused on your goals.

Super Achievers Have
Talent, Skill, Patience, and Lady Luck!

Super achievement involves the mystery we call "luck". I think it's important to say that out loud! Many motivational speakers focus only on their "secrets of success", claiming they have the "law" of money or the "law" of success on their side. By definition, you can't count on luck to make up for lack of talent or lack of preparation. And, there's no use blaming "bad luck" for poor choices or stubbornness or bad judgment. Success comes from acknowledging luck, then going about your business the best way you know how.

The Action in Attraction
10 Things You Can Do Today

Successful people have taken the time to clearly define their life vision and are willing to take action on fulfilling it every day. Action leads to movement, which leads to momentum, which naturally draws more of the 'good stuff' to them. The desire to meet a challenge and succeed has been a part of many cultures throughout history. The ancient Peruvians used to draw out their goals in symbols and paint them in primitive colors on the walls of caves. Likewise, we moderns have an innate need to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. However few of us seem to be able to attract more of what we really want. Writing can help immensely.

Anger Means Your Power is On!

When you feel lost and confused, it is easy to give your power to anyone who appears on your doorstep -- a coach, a counselor, even a good friend or relative. People in transition, who are seeking direction, are especially vulnerable to anyone who offers help. The US government has developed programs to protect newly-bereaved citizens who are vulnerable to claims from funeral services. But if you have let your intuition lie dormant or you have responded passively to events around you, anger is a sign that you are getting your power back. You are turning on the juice. Your intuition is beginning to overpower the wet blankets, the poison darts, and the well-meaning-but-misguided mentors. Recognize, welcome and manage your anger. You are almost certainly ready to take action and experience your own power once again.

What's Self Esteem Got to Do With It?

Self-esteem is described as how you think about yourself. You may have been brought up to caution how you express yourself to others. You temper how you think about yourself so that you don't "get out of line" or become arrogant or "too big for your britches." But the fact is that by tempering yourself, you shrink yourself. And although others may not feel insecure around you if you are not any bigger or more expansive than them, the fact is that you do not get to experience all that there is of you. By being less than you are capable of being and doing for fear of being too big or too great, you are limiting yourself. When you limit yourself, the result is that you are left with a sense that you could be so much more and the world loses out because you are not giving all that you have " to BEING YOU! The more "you" you are, the greater the impact you have on the world.

How to Be Appropriately Pushy

One of the things that's often hard to know is how and when to be pushy appropriately. In these hardscrabble times, perfectly polite people don't stand much of a chance of getting what they want. However, not enough can be said for making yourself known in a decent and unobnoxious manner. The key is to use your intuition and your brain, both at the same time, and pray for a little luck. Everyone has to start somewhere, even the rich and famous. So if you can approach politely, preferably through some other means than the front office, your efforts will probably not be seen as pushy but as what one does to get a break.

Owning Your Power

Owning your power, your power to be real, to be who you really are, is really about owning your freedom. Consider how your reasons for not being yourself may have been to get the love or approval of others. Then, you have given others the power to decide your way of being, and thus keeping yourself from being free. In many ways, you have been giving away your power/freedom by your ways of speaking and thinking, and being.

Great Ways To Stay Motivated At Work

Staying motivated at work is easier than you think when you know what to do. Motivation really is a question of strategy. When you know your personal motivation blueprint there is nothing you cannot do. It is easy to get caught up with non-urgent matters that you can either ignore completely or do at a later date. All that clutter leaves you confused about what to do so you end up procrastinating. It is very motivating to have a highly specific game plan that challenges you without leaving you overwhelmed.

Are You Able To Say Both 'Yes!' And 'No!'?

When it is all said and done, when we delve deeply into our emotions, we almost always find that our strongest and most habitual response is covering up other feelings that we are not fully aware of. We feel hurt, disrespected, abandoned, or sad, and we cover over these feelings and lose touch with them, by expressing anger or resentment instead. When we find ways to tap into our deeper emotions we invariably find that we have been neglecting some form of pain or discomfort. When we neglect or simply don't notice our deeper emotional reactions, we lose the ability to express our full range of emotions. In the process we find that by consistently expressing only one segment of our entire emotional range, we limit our ability to be happy and feel at ease within ourselves and with those that we interact with.

Difficult People -- How To Deal With Them

When people behave towards you in a manner that makes you feel angry, frustrated or annoyed -- this is known as a Hook. We can even become "Hooked" by the way people look, how they talk, how they smell and even by their general demeanour. If we take the bait then we are allowing the other person to control our behaviour. This can then result in an unproductive response. We have a choice whether we decided to get hooked or stay unhooked.

The "To Do" List vs. the "To Be" List

Try it in an area of your life where you're feeling frustration. Instead of obsessing on the myriad of details that you needed to get done yesterday, for example, spend a little time determining what kind of person you want to be. Now examine that 'myriad of details'. Are they moving you in the direction you want to go? When you see activities from this perspective, you will get more satisfaction from the mundane and your 'to do' list will gain clarity and meaning. Best of all, you'll be able to pare down your gargantuan 'do it today' list to a more manageable size: the items that most support your desired wish 'to be'.

The "To Do" List vs. the "To Be" List

Your Best Is Always Good Enough

Do you remember that inner voice? You know -- the one that we have to put a muzzle on and train? The one that says that "we can do better," what we did was "not good enough," and even "you're a failure." Can you tell why that voice needs to be silenced? First and foremost, because it is wrong! We gain nothing from "beating ourselves" up about things. In fact, it is a serious waste of energy that could be spent building ourselves up.

Discovering What You Want For Your Life

I often recommend that life planning be based upon an individual's personal vision and purpose. If you are going to handcraft a life of choice, you'll need to know what you want so that you can make the choices that take you there. The trouble is that many (most?) of you cannot name what it is you want.

If you don't make choices for your life, others will. Often, choices are made by circumstances, weak foundation, past, parents. Choosing what you want in life and out of life is a new skill for many people. It may take some practice. At some point you realize that you are able to, and must, make choices for your life.

A tremendous number of people in America work very hard at something that bores them. Even a rich man thinks he has to go down to the office everyday. Not because he likes it but because he can't think of anything else to do.
