Do you wonder why you're here? Are you missing something deeper in your life? Don't know how or where to start? Here are a few things that helped me start feel more significant and begin to get in touch with a higher purpose.
I began to feel that I mattered. Really! And that I didn't need someone else to affirm that for me. Strangely enough, once I "got that", I believed I was making a difference, one step at a time, one action at a time.
1. Get behind the obvious.
Research your name. Were you named after someone? Who? Why? What were they like? If you don't know, you might be living out there life through other people's expectations of you! Wise up! What does your name mean, literally?
Does it tie into a deity or an attribute? Research the deity. Ponder their attributes. Keep looking until you find a meaning that resonates with you.
What does your name using an ancient alphabet like the Runes? Each letter has a significance.
What is the numerology of your name (use all of your names, first, middle, last). What do yours add up to?
2. Make a collage or some kind of drawing about your name.
Try different types of lettering to see what really makes you smile. Jazz it up!
3. If you want to get clarity about YOUR life, start with your roots!
It's also a way to begin to honor those who came before you. If you are a woman, for instance, get to know the first names of all of your lineage by heart. Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and beyond. How far can you go?
Can you learn anything special or significant about each and every one of them? Do you have a picture for each one? Remember, the more you know about who you came from, the more equipped you are to see the patterns, positive or negative!
Might as well get acquainted with their stories. Get behind the family secrets. Pull out all the stops!
4. Write a book about your life and include what you discovered about your family herstory/history.
Share it with your family and friends or submit it to be published. Oprah might be waiting to interview you next!
5. Make a photo collage using your photo and those of your same gender relatives and ancestors.
