Each of strives to honor our optimum rhythm, or pace for life, because we know it brings greater joy and more success. How do you stay in sync with your own inner pace for life? A pace that energizes, rather than drains you?
It may be time to strengthen the beat of your inner drum, heard faintly in the background of phone calls, e-mails, meetings, sales pitches, reports, websites, workshops, house chores, social events, and family.
You've Got Rhythm!
You know when you are "in the flow" - you have time for all the important things in life, including good self care. If you have never had this time, it's time to picture this for your life. What are the details of your life when you are in the flow? Do you notice that your activities are energizing and expressive of your authentic self? You can increase your focus on these activities to help you achieve the pace of life that energizes you.
What is your best time of day for creativity, for learning new information, for mundane tasks, for networking and connecting, for self care activities, for spiritual practices, for time with friends and family? Get clear about your own best life rhythm and keep it in mind as you plan each day.
They've Got Rhythm!
We all have outside influences that can alter our own rhythm. The trick is to know what those rhythms are, and strike up a "rhythm combo" that works for you and others. This may require learning some new beats.
Who or what influences your day? What are their rhythms? Have you completely lost your own rhythm because of these influences? It's easy to do. I had one client who felt she must be available to her clients by phone all day long, even though her own rhythm would have her using her time very differently.
Her clients were so accustomed to calling her all day, she worried that her business would fail if she made any changes. She decided to run an experiment. She put a message on her answering machine saying she would return all calls between 2 and 4 PM.
The results were fantastic! Her productivity and enjoyment of work improved, resulting in increased sales and business growth. She still answers phone calls, but in her own way. Be creative. What outside influences are keeping you from being in your flow?
Keep the Rhythm!
By becoming more mindful, you can hear your inner drum beat in every moment of every day. Being mindful, pay attention to what you are doing and how you feel about doing it. Do you feel energized? If not, where are you off beat? Make a correction as soon as possible.
For example, if you are working at your desk on a creative task and find it more and more difficult with time, you may want to briefly shift to an activity that is in tune with your rhythm at that moment. Take a few moments to re-center and find your rhythm.
Maybe you know you work better with classical music in the background, or perhaps lighting a candle or petting your cat will calm your mind and allow your creativity to flow. Find ways to remind you of your unique rhythm.
Law of Rhythm Attraction
When we take the time to know and remind ourselves of our own drum beat, it becomes more influential in our lives. It also becomes more influential in the world. When you are centered and in sync with yourself and with your flow of life expression, you will attract others who are also in sync and who may resonate with your flow.
You will attract those who appreciate your energy and who appreciate your life flow.
Marching is fun when the beat is your own!
