You may also encounter a person or situation that rouses some of your own prejudices, one-sided thinking, or paranoid beliefs. We all have such things, and we all have to deal with such moments. They are opportunities to re-examine our ideas and make whatever changes we deem necessary. This is how we keep our intellectual life dynamic and vital.

You may feel unhappy, unappreciated, victimized, even "used" ... but not acting (or not using your own guidance) to change the situation.
