Failing to achieve victory

In the next few days, life may hand you yet another "take a cold 'tater and wait" moment of delay and frustration on some matter that may have been stalled or hanging fire for a while. The end result is ... you don't achieve what you are expecting ... or hoping for.

You may also soon face a delayed recognition of your talents and skills ... and the attendant delay in reaching a goal you're striving to claim ... but in a way that shows how you have failed to develop or use your abilities correctly.

This is actually a good thing, because it allows for adjustment and corrections that will put you more on track to succeed because now you're using more of your knowledge and gifts, more of yourself, even. And the reward you find waiting for you further on may be much grander than it would have been without this moment of examination and new focus.

Setbacks and delays are disappointing, scary, and very discouraging. Sometimes they seem almost like sadistic taunts, testing whether your resolve and desire are stronger than life's ability to frustrate you. Maybe they are ... demonstrating that Darwinian principle about "survival of the fittest."

Timing Problems

This card warns against either pushing a point too hard when you would do better to hold back and ease up ... or failing to act on an opportunity that then is lost by your ineffective response. The trouble is ... it's hard to know what to do. Things are very confused and dicey at the moment.

You might consider "going against your instincts" if you can do so safely. If your tendency is to hold back ... see if pushing harder gets you better results. If you are inclined to forge ahead full bore ... maybe a little patience and circumspection would pay off more in the long run. Fortunately this shakiness is temporary. You will see your directions more clearly soon. In the meantime, if you have to act ... just keep this advice in mind, and do the best you can.

Inadequate resources

You will likely discover that some project, effort, or goal you have in mind ... something either in the early stages of development or something you want to expand or take to a more substantial level ... lacks the resources necessary for you to make that move at the moment. Unless you cobble them up and find a way to provide the time, money, effort, cooperation, energy, or other assets you need, your great plans will come to nothing.

Consider the possibility that you yourself may be too physically exhausted or overcommitted to take this matter on at the moment. Or you may not have enough money to do what you want to do for the time being. This doesn't mean you have to shelve the project indefinitely. But you should take stock of your available "raw materials" ... and consider what it takes to reach your goals. If this ambition is worth pursuing, it's worth the best foundation you can provide.
