Needing reinforcement

Events in the near future may leave you overwhelmed and in need of help to align matters so you can cope with them again, but the circumstances under which this happens may vary widely. On the one hand, something may take you by surprise and prove more of a challenge than you expect at the moment. Or you may realize that some project you've signed on for needs more commitment or strength than you can or are willing to provide.

Or you may discover that something you thought could be managed easily will take a lot more resources and effort to end it properly -- maybe more than you have immediately at hand. Or something may arise where you decide you'd rather surrender without a fight than waste time and resources on an issue that doesn't matter that much.

You may even meet more than one of these situations soon, because fundamentally, this card's aim is to show you some of the dynamics of power -- the occasional need for it, and your choices in using what you have.

Fruitless efforts

You may soon assess the work you've done in your relationships lately ... and come to the conclusion you've put in a mediocre effort at best. Perhaps you're not giving them enough time. Perhaps other resources are lacking. Or perhaps you're just applying yourself wrong. Whatever the cause, you may not be producing what you really want in the end ... and it's time to set that right.

You may also decide there are relationships in your life that just aren't producing anything of value for you. There may be some relationships that draw heavily on your personal resources which in the end have nothing but "mutual economic exploitation" as their reason for being ... and even the results you're getting there are too poor to keep things going any longer.
