What's in the Cards?
For Life
The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Focusing on joy
The advice today is to reconnect to your joy of living. Turn your attention to artistic, creative, emotional interests ... or find yourself some convivial company and spend time with caring, loving people. These are the activities that can restore your spirit and help you re-enter the natural flow of your life. You need that now, for in reconnecting to these energies you create opportunities to offer back all the things you have to give.
It's a time to dream, to examine your ideals, and contribute honest effort to projects that have artistic merit, a sense of "style," aesthetic components, and the power to inspire. This can be everything from outright production of music, poetry, and art ... to any building or construction project that carries a creative, caring touch.
Even time spent communing with nature, working in the garden, playing with pets, feeding the birds in your backyard ... or squirrels in the park, taking pictures, creating a flower arrangement, or fashioning a wreath or centerpiece qualifies as work to help you regain your own artistic center. None of this is frivolous. This element in your nature is important. And it may get way too little respect and too little time to pursue the interests that nourish both it and you.
Today's affirmation:
I understand the importance of supporting the emotional, spiritual side of my life.

The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.

What's in the Cards?
For Love
The Tarot's advice to help you work constructively with
the challenges of relationships.
Today's Theme for Relationships
Failing to achieve victory
In the next few days, life may hand you yet another "take a cold 'tater and wait" moment of delay and frustration on some matter that may have been stalled or hanging fire for a while. Very likely this involves or affects some essential relationship or personal association in your life. The end result is ... you don't achieve what you are expecting ... or hoping for.
You may also soon face a delayed recognition of your talents and skills, a lack of appreciation for all you are and what you have to offer to a relationship -- by the very partner who could benefit most by his position in your life. In the end, you may not reach a goal you're striving to claim, a bond you're trying to build, or a level of interpersonal connection you'd hoped to achieve.
True, you may not have offered exactly what was needed, or done what was required to hold up your side of the relationship. But you may also have chosen to invest yourself and your talents in someone who quite simply doesn't deserve you. Before you beat up on yourself too badly ... at least consider that idea.
This is actually a good thing, because it allows for adjustment and corrections that will put you more on track to succeed because now you're using more of your knowledge and gifts, more of yourself, more of your common sense in choosing your important people, even.
The reward you find waiting for you further on may be much grander than it would have been without this moment of examination and new focus, especially if you're trying to play the game of love with someone who is never going to let you win.
An additional thought to ponder:
Setbacks and delays are disappointing, scary, and very discouraging. Sometimes they seem almost like sadistic taunts, testing whether your resolve and desire are stronger than life's ability to frustrate you. Maybe they are ... demonstrating that Darwinian principle about "survival of the fittest."

Good timber does not grow with ease. The stronger the wind the stronger the trees.

For Money
The Tarot's advice to help you work with issues of
worth, value, survival, practicality, and pleasure ...
as a spiritual being in a material world.
Today's Theme for Money and Practical Concerns
Misusing resources
You may soon have an experience where you feel cheated. Or where the temptation to cheat someone else is mighty strong.
If it's the former, consider what action you need to take ... and then consider why you were handed this life lesson to process. How might you be "cheating yourself?" If it's the latter, consider how it would feel to have the situation reversed -- and what agenda you may have that prompts such temptations in the first place. How do you invite opportunities where you "feel cheated" by others? Why do you think taking advantage of someone else is a way to get ahead?
An extra thought to ponder
The miser who refuses to spend and enjoy his money ... has no worthwhile advantage over the pauper who has none.

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.
