This is a tough card. There's no two ways around it. It generally means you've come to the end of a significant illusion and are having to adjust your thinking in a mighty big way to cope with circumstances or information that is painful, harsh, heart-breaking, or disastrous. It suggests you may be handling a significant disappointment ... either fresh in present time or in repercussions from an incident in the past.

Often the hardest part of any major crisis is accepting what happened. And it may be that something in the next few days triggers memories or questions from a past incident that need to be reviewed further ... and put to rest either more fully, again, or once and for all. We can always hope that this is one of the last times you'll have to process the consequences of this feeling.

This may be something that "doesn't quite click," that doesn't ring true, or that seems "off" somehow. It can also be something that seems "too good to be true."

The energy at work when this card shows up indicates conditions are very unreliable. Sometimes it points toward outright deception. Other times it describes situations where "reality" is not solid or fully formed yet -- and may never be in the way expected. It can signify everything from deliberate lies, to misunderstandings, to incomplete information, to plain old wishful thinking.

Pay close attention to your instincts in all your relationships over the next several days. They are really all you have to go on. But they are also your best source of information. Believe it or not, your "gut" never lies.
