You may find yourself caught in a welter of indecision, confusion, stagnation, and perhaps "excuses" ... all of which are crowding out the clarity of truth you need to hone in on. Don't make choices in haste or under pressure. Ground yourself. Ask sincerely and directly for the answers you want, and then listen quietly while these make themselves known to you.

You may need more information about an important decision ... and postponing action until you have the facts might be your wisest option. Alternatively, you may not know exactly what you want ... or the right course to follow -- which needs a different sort of remedy. Stepping back, re-examining your problem, and clarifying your priorities are all indicated there.

On a more sinister note, this card can indicate you are being misled -- either with incorrect information or by someone who is deliberately deceiving you or keeping you in the dark. Also, you may need to scrutinize your own honesty and be sure you are asking clearly for what you want -- not sneaking around looking for some backdoor means to get your own way.

• Are you holding on to a relationship that isn't giving back a worthwhile return for your effort? It may be time to consider how to better spend your energy and other personal wealth to give you better benefit?

• Has an association proved disappointing, expensive, draining, exhausting? You might be wise to consider if it's ever going to be anything else ... and if you can't honestly say it will, perhaps it's time to end the connection.

• What are your important relationships "costing you?" In any worthwhile situation, there needs to be a minimum of long-term discrepancy between what you give and what you get.

Not all returns are tangible. Even difficult or problematic relationships are "giving" you something if you continue to keep them around. It's certainly helpful to know, as well as you're able, just what the payoff is for a difficult, unrewarding, or time-consuming relationship. Do you get to feel noble and victimized? Are you able to soothe some kind of guilt? Do you reinforce a belief that you don't deserve respect or better treatment? Do you get to feel superior? Helpful? Strong? Admirable? Long-suffering? Is this really how you want to manage your life?
