The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Recovery
It may be time to heal and "find meaning" in something you've experienced recently that involves loss and disappointment, betrayal, ruin, and profound despair -- probably on a matter you struggled hard to achieve or where you were quite personally invested. This card implies exhaustion as well as injury ... and suggests you may have been through substantial stress in this part of your life. You may have had to "call it quits" on something you had high hopes for once-upon-a-time. Doing so may have been nothing short of traumatic.
At its worst, this card suggests you may have been badly mistreated, led on, lied to, crushed, or exploited by someone you trusted. Its ugliest energy suggests you've been "stabbed in the back." But there may simply have been serious adjustments in lifestyle ... or objective. You may have had to reluctantly accept "new information and viewpoints" about something you seriously misunderstood.
The reversal of this card may indicate this situation is in the process of healing ... or that most of the injury is "on the inside" rather than raw and oozing out in public. But even if it's not as galling as it used to be, even if you've had some time to get over what happened -- chances are it still hurts a lot.
However, it's now time to learn to trust life again ... and move on, in the aftermath of crushing defeat, sorrow, and despair. It may take a while yet for you to recover from this, personally, intellectually, financially ... and emotionally. Revelations such as this one suggests aren't easy to absorb. And you need to still be gentle with yourself -- and cautious. You're not as strong yet as you were once ... and you'd do well to remember that for a while.
Today's affirmation:
I know how to take one day at a time ... and stabilize myself before trying to take another step in any direction.

Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.

Spinning your wheels
The next few days may bring you back to "an old familiar place" in your relationships or important associations ... a place sadly distinguished by its lack of satisfaction, disappointing outcomes, and quite possibly the feeling that "you just can't win." Psychologists call this pattern a "game" ... because it is usually characterized by habits, moves, responses, and expectations that have failed before -- and don't have much chance of turning up different results no matter how often you go through the motions.
This setback may be especially cruel because it frequently comes after a time of rising hopes ... and the belief that you've learned the strategies and methods you need to get past this point -- and go on to another game.
Occasionally, this card indicates a time of deep disappointment in someone else -- possibly because a person turns out not to have the character and virtues you'd hoped for ... or because he (or she) breaks a promise or lets you down one more time ... when the truth is, you really knew they would.
Today's affirmation:
I recognize when I'm doing "the same old thing" and expecting different results -- and can appreciate that for the insanity it truly is. I also realize this is life's way of telling me to do something different ... really different ... next time.

Don't sleep too much. If you sleep 3 hours less each night for a year,
you will have an extra month and a half to succeed in.

Releasing
The advice for your financial life today is to prepare for endings, inevitable changes, the closing out of old conditions in order to make room for new experiences, and the unavoidable change in perspective and consciousness that goes with such a time.
Over the next few days, you will meet circumstances of necessary change in your investments, your economic conditions, your financial structures, and your management of money, physical assets, and possessions ... as you release something that has outlived its usefulness, something that is exhausted and worn out, or something that needs to end, possibly something that is "ill" or no longer functioning productively.
It is also possible you need to make a major change in your lifestyle ... and put an end to some investment of time, energy, commitment, and work you are putting into a project that needs to be closed and declared "done." A time of transition is at hand, so be prepared for this and the new arrangements that will arrive to take the place of whatever is being cast off and released.
Today's affirmation:
I am able to make wise choices about the things that need to end and be replaced in my life.

I cannot join the space program and restart my life as an astronaut, but this opportunity to connect my abilities as an educator with my interests in history and space is a unique opportunity to fulfill my early fantasies.
