Something in your life is being influenced by flagrant dishonesty and emotional manipulation. Someone may be using your regard for him or your feelings for your relationship with him to grossly unfair advantage. The resources he may be commandeering with this weasely behavior include your time, your energy, your money, your caring concern, your love, and your material and physical possessions.

Often the "message" you are receiving from this person is along the lines of ... "If you really loved me," or "If you were really my friend," or "How can you think of hurting my feelings?" or "If you confront me on my dishonesty, I'll throw a tantrum."

The even less attractive possibility of this card in this position suggests you may be treating someone else this way. Whatever the case ... it's time for some new ground rules, for everybody's sake.

You may take action soon in a relationship where things have been stuck for a while. Or you may be forced into a response not necessarily of your choosing, but regardless, things are not going to remain in the status quo much longer. Breaking this impasse will at least hand you a different situation to cope with ... although whether the change will be good ultimately is still undetermined.

Motives don't have much sway in this matter presently. Whether you are acting from frustration, impatience, a lack of self-control, or simply a need to get on with something different, you'll be seeing changes soon. That at least will end the stagnation and lack of movement that has been hindering you recently.

Or something may arise where you decide you'd rather surrender without a fight than waste time and resources on an issue that doesn't matter that much.

You may even meet more than one of these situations soon, because fundamentally, this card's aim is to show you some of the dynamics of power -- the occasional need for it, and your choices in using what you have.
