He (or she) may be self-righteously convinced that "his way is the only way." Unfortunately, for him it is. But it doesn't have to be your way, unless you make that choice.

You may also encounter a person or situation that rouses some of your own prejudices, one-sided thinking, or paranoid beliefs. We all have such things, and we all have to deal with such moments. They are opportunities to re-examine our ideas and make whatever changes we deem necessary. This is how we keep our intellectual life dynamic and vital.
