Misunderstanding who you are

You may need to put some considerable time into re-evaluating yourself, examining your self-confidence levels, and just "adjusting your attitude" about who you are and what your role is in an important relationship you have. This card suggests you may need to put in a fair bit of work building a more positive self-image and sense of personal power.

It can also indicate you are dealing with someone else ... as a partner ... who has these problems and needs this kind of realignment and help. Of course, in order to help someone else improve at anything, you have to first have the skills, knowledge, experience, and wit to do the work better yourself. Hence the suggestion that you look to set your own house in order ... before turning your attention to someone who may need your help, too.

One of the great metaphysical and psychological truths that is still gaining acceptance in the greater world is the knowledge that problems we have with "other people" in our lives are the areas where we ourselves need more work. That's why we're having the problems in the first place: discomfort is such a great attention-getter.

Being overwhelmed

Are you feeling inadequate, threatened, coerced, pressured, fearful, and anxious in a situation involving love or a significant relationship in your life? If you are indecisive, hesitant, too conciliatory, or unwilling to defend your interests properly, you could be prolonging your own discomfort, adding to your own disadvantage, and handing your antagonist an easier victory than he deserves.

Insisting on help, respect, latitude, and tolerance is not at all the same as being selfish. You deserve all these things in any relationship that you want to keep as a permanent fixture in your life.

Today's Theme for Money and Practical Concerns
Timing Problems

Issues of practical concern, especially matters involving money, property, assets, and material resources may feel very unstable right now. You may also be showing symptoms of the physical stress you're having to cope with ... since your body is one of those "material resources" feeling the strain at the moment.

This card warns against either pushing a point too hard when you would do better to hold back and ease up ... or failing to act on an opportunity that then is lost by your ineffective response. The trouble is ... it's hard to know what to do -- because, as I said, things are very confused and dicey at the moment.

You might consider "going against your instincts" if you can do so safely. If your tendency is to hold back ... see if pushing harder gets you better results. If you are inclined to forge ahead full bore ... maybe a little patience and circumspection would pay off more in the long run. Fortunately this shakiness is temporary. You will see your directions more clearly soon. In the meantime, if you have to act ... just keep this advice in mind, and do the best you can.
