What's in the Cards?
For Life
The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Releasing
The advice for life today is to prepare for endings, inevitable changes, the closing out of old conditions in order to make room for new experiences, and the unavoidable change in perspective and consciousness that goes with such a time.
Over the next few days, you will meet circumstances of necessary change as you release something that has outlived its usefulness, something that is exhausted and worn out, or something that needs to end, possibly something that is "ill" or no longer functioning productively.
It may involve a past association or a situation still hanging over from your past that needs to be ended and "released" once and for all. You've reached a place where you are able to accomplish this now ... and will profit by doing so and moving on.
A time of extraordinary transition is at hand ... and the compelling archetype of the Death card counsels you to prepare for this ... and the new arrangements that will arrive to take the place of whatever is being cast off and released.
Today's affirmation:
I am able to make wise choices about the things that need to end and be replaced in my life.

Don't grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.

The Tarot's advice to help you work constructively with

Today's Theme for Relationships
Inadequate resources
You may need to take a hard look at the relationships in your life -- specifically at what you are getting from them, what they are costing you, and what it takes to sustain either the relationship or your partner(s). This card indicates the exhaustion of resources ... or the lack of resources to start anything new.
It can indicate a looming financial crisis that has a relationship squarely in the middle of the problem. It can indicate a relationship where one of the partners has just lost the will to continue investing patience, energy, hope, time, and physical goods any longer. It can indicate the sad realization that you just "aren't getting what you need" from a relationship -- even in terms of bare essentials. What this situation needs to sustain it just doesn't exist any more.
You may have to admit you are (perhaps literally) killing yourself in the service of a relationship that is returning virtually nothing of value for your effort. You may soon make yourself ill (if you're not already) if you continue with this.
Sometimes this card depicts a new relationship for which you had high hopes ... that just never gets off the ground "due to lack of interest."
Today's affirmation:
I know when to call it quits on a no-win situation.

We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them,

Final endings
This is a tough card. There's no two ways around it. It generally means you've come to the end of a significant illusion and are having to adjust your thinking in a mighty big way to cope with circumstances or information that is painful, harsh, heart-breaking, or disastrous. It suggests you may be handling a significant disappointment ... either fresh in present time or in repercussions from an incident in the past.
This can be especially tough where money and possessions are concerned ... because of the strong symbolic connections these things have to both our survival issues and our abstract values. Changes here ... or even instability ... can be extremely uncomfortable and scary.
Often the hardest part of any major crisis is accepting what happened. And it may be that something in the next few days triggers memories or questions from a past incident that need to be reviewed further ... and put to rest either more fully, again, or once and for all. Or it can bring the undeniable realization that something you've believed in, counted on, and maybe worked hard for ... for a long time ... has handed you back nothing but disappointment for your efforts.
As I said, this realization can be extraordinarily bitter ... and hearing that ultimately this is the first stage of important new beginnings may not hold much weight on balance -- for the time being.
An additional thought to ponder:
Just as every ending signals the arrival of new beginnings, new beginnings require endings in order to commence. This is simply the way life works, in an infinitely circular and wondrous fashion.

I cannot say whether things will get better if we change;
what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better.
