You may have to stand up for a matter on which you feel strongly ... and have the courage of your convictions not to cave in or back down under pressure. In a difference of opinion with a partner you may have to firmly decide not to compromise or settle for less than you want or deserve. In a competitive situation or on a moral issue, you may have to take a stand and hold your ground against a challenge.

Of course this card could also be suggesting that you should not compromise or settle for "whatever you can get" in a situation where that option has begun to suggest itself. It's time to trust your common sense, honor your vision of what you want ... and hold tight to what you value.

It's tempting to overlook the possibility that another person may want to do you harm, would eagerly take unfair advantage of any opening to do so, or may be strictly out for "Number One" ... without regard to social niceties like courtesy or conscience. Stagnation

The energy available for you today is misaligned, unproductive, and sluggish. It's not a good day to start anything important. You may not have the initiative or energy ... and even if you do, there's an underlying lack of development that will probably take your efforts nowhere.

Rather than deal with this frustration and disappointment head on, you would be wiser to settle back, do some introspective searching and see what new thing is waiting to reveal itself to you. Something new and impressive is "in the works" ... and you haven't seen the whole picture yet. You'll save yourself some aggravation if you'll "take the day off," not push too hard, and have the patience to wait and see what better things develop before long.

Examining inner values

You may need to examine your conduct in a situation that involves your financial arrangements, sources of income, spending habits, investment strategies, money management, professional directions, or overall lifestyle and health practices. Something of consequence there wants adjustment.

You may need to confront circumstances that are too one-sided, too impractical, too "parasitical," where people may be taking gross financial advantage of others -- possibly you (!!) as either victim or perpetrator, where someone is taking too much for granted in the ways others must work to provide for him and his comforts, and who is unacceptably wasteful of time, energy, and other resources.

Chances are you know who this person is ... or the issues this energy describes, but it also wouldn't hurt to consider your own conduct and see if possibly you are inviting this experience into your life, either though your own relaxed and overly tolerant attitudes -- or by doing this to someone else, yourself.

You might also consider whether you are doing too much for someone who should be taking better care of himself ... or possibly whether you need more compensation for the value you provide.
