What's in the Cards?
For Life
The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Dissolution
In the next several days, you may encounter someone sensual, idle, untruthful, irresponsible, or dishonest. This card may warn that you'll find yourself dealing with a swindler, a fraud, a trickster, a con artist. Or it can describe a situation where you'll be entangled with a person far too fond of his creature comforts, someone who is self-indulgent, manipulative, and a "taker." It also cautions you to beware of flattery ... and watch for someone who plays emotional games and offers false affection.
It can also, however, foretell a vastly pleasure seeking, self-indulgent, hedonistic time ahead -- and you may deserve every minute of it.
An extra piece of advice:
This card also indicates "living in your fantasies." That might be a clue this would be a great time to brainstorm, daydream, and construct some new goals to pursue in the year ahead ... something you could really get excited about, something you could dive into heart and soul ... when the new year arrives with its chance for a clean slate and new beginnings.

All of the animals except man know that the principal business of life is to enjoy it.

What's in the Cards?
For Love
The Tarot's advice to help you work constructively with
the challenges of relationships.
Today's Theme for Relationships
Standing fast
You may have to stand up for a matter on which you feel strongly ... and have the courage of your convictions not to cave in or back down under pressure. In a difference of opinion with a partner you may have to firmly decide not to compromise or settle for less than you want or deserve.
Of course this card could also be suggesting that you should not compromise or settle for "whatever you can get" in a relationship where that situation has begun to show itself. It's time to trust your common sense, honor your vision of what you want in a partner ... and hold tight to what you value.
An additional thought to ponder:
It's also possible you and a partner may have to join forces against some outside threat ... or unify your efforts and resources to fend off some competition or adversary. This would also satisfy this card's meaning of "competing successfully" within the context of a relationship or mutual effort.

This above all: to thine own self be true.

For Money
The Tarot's advice to help you work with issues of
worth, value, survival, practicality, and pleasure ...
as a spiritual being in a material world.
Today's Theme for Money and Practical Concerns
Rediscovering joy
Expect to get a wake-up call in the next few days ... demonstrating how you are drifting, wasting time, being irresponsible, not using your talents, feeling sorry for yourself, being pessimistic, lazy, and generally indulging your Inner Victim. This may specifically involve something to do with your finances, economic situation, possessions, or income sources.
You may be investing yourself very poorly ... and thus cheating yourself of rewards and goals that should be much more within your reach. You may be working from or clinging to false values. You may simply have the inner message that you somehow don't deserve to be happy, to live comfortably, or to prosper.
That realization, of course, is the first step toward standing up, adjusting your attitude, and putting yourself back in charge of you inner creative life and your emotional well-being again.
You may encounter this energy "by example," too ... through an encounter with someone else who acts this out for your benefit ... and education. If you find yourself dealing with someone living in a world of his own, running away from reality through counter-productive strategies, complaining that nobody loves him and that he never gets a break ... and using these excuses to continue mucking his way through life -- you've got a cautionary tale unfolding right before your eyes.
Be sure you're not buying into some of the same futile tactics, and be doubly sure you're not playing the part of the "patsy" ... helping somebody else stay on this pointless merry-go-round with endless offers of "help," money, understanding, advice, and sympathy.
An extra thought to ponder:
Do you know what it takes for you to be happy? Many people don't. Even the structure of our language seems to put that state outside ourselves somehow. We speak of something "making" us happy, as if we are passive pawns of circumstance. We're not, and if we stop acting and thinking otherwise, happiness is a lot easier to find.

Nobody really cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy.
