What's in the Cards?
For Life
The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Finding meaning
The next several days may help you put to rest feelings and memories left over from an abusive, offensive experience in your past. This episode of further recovery may be something whose need you readily recognize, or it may surprise you to find yet another increment of pain and healing in an old memory you thought you'd laid to rest already.
Something that comes to your attention -- or dredges up the past -- will help you find the "meaning" and absorb the lesson you need to take away from this sad experience. It may not be pleasant to confront this again ... just as it wasn't at all pleasant to live through it the first time. But in such moments of mending you build strength, and the hurt fades even further.
Today's affirmation:
I am strong enough to face my past and purge the pain that remains unhealed there.

A keen sense of humor helps us to overlook the unbecoming, understand the unconventional, tolerate the unpleasant, overcome the unexpected, and outlast the unbearable.

For Love
The Tarot's advice to help you work constructively with
the challenges of relationships.
Today's Theme for Relationships
Defending your position
Over the next few days, you may have to deliberately protect your interests, hold on to what you believe, and defend what you have accomplished -- within the context of a friendship, relationship, partnership, marriage or other personal association. The experience itself may, in retrospect, seem like the Universe's way of separating the players from the push-overs. It's time to know for sure which you are.
You may experience circumstances where someone is "testing you" in search of weaknesses or soft spots ... or you may see that game of sly probing and subtle examination played out in someone else's life. It's the kind of thing that goes on all the time, and watching the maneuvers when they involve other people can be just as educational as being one of the principals in this psychological tug-of-war.
An extra piece of advice:
When it comes to the ultimate "bottom line" you really do have to take a stand ... and "take care of Number One." If you don't, there's not a lot of chance someone will step in and do it for you. There's more of a chance someone will walk all over you instead.

An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.

For Money

Ego problems
In order to make the most of your financial assets and economic conditions, you may need to spend some time in self-examination and attitude adjustment ... possibly to the point of starting over to build a more positive self-image and sense of personal power. You're simply not reaping the rewards you might have available ... even the ones you may have earned ... because you lack the willingness and self-reliance to follow your ambitions through to a good conclusion. You may not have the vision to set decent, attainable financial goals for yourself in the first place.
You may be puttering around, handicapped by your own timidity and negative attitude. Such things interfere with initiative and motivation at a very early stage, leaving you mired in the belief that you don't have "what it takes" to really support yourself to the best of your ability. To correct this would do you a tremendous favor ... and certainly be worth the investment of time and self-analysis needed to repair this flawed vision of what you can do and what you deserve.
An extra piece of advice:
Another possibility when this card appears warns that you may have to deal with someone else whose bad self-image and negative attitude is harming you financially ... or harming him financially ... or, most likely, both. This person's lack of drive and belief in himself may be a hindrance that will respond to encouragement, instruction, and /or therapy.
Or you may be faced with someone who is helpless, lazy, uncooperative, and a chronic "victim." Such a thing takes sterner measures to correct ... but the first place to begin is in your own attitudes that have either magnetized him into your life ... or allow him to remain and muck around in his own self-pity and helplessness.

The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive. The great opportunity is where you are.
