What's in the Cards?
For Life
The Tarot's advice to help you live a life with conscious meaning.
Today's Theme for Daily Life
Taking matters at face value
b
There's a lot going on under the surface of your life now, but you may be too stressed or too busy to listen to your intuition and what your Inner Self is trying to tell you. Of course it's "logical" to go with feedback from your five physical senses, but the wisdom of your sixth sense is just as valid -- even if sometimes it has trouble getting through. Don't let appearances fool you. There's more going on now than meets the eye.
Your instincts may be trying to tell you something ... and you'd be wise to listen.
An extra piece of advice:
Be still. Listen to your heart. What truth is it trying to tell you? Chances are that truth is a lot less fearsome than continuing to fool yourself by either ignoring the information coming to you or by indulging in wishful, head-in-the-sand thinking will prove to be. Another meaning of this card is that your paranoia is out of control. You really do need to step back and get a complete picture of what's happening in your life presently.

Fashion is the science of appearances,
and it inspires one with the desire to seem rather than to be.

Exercising discrimination and good judgment

It may be time to look at your life and relationships and bring an end to some association, partnership, alliance, friendship, or union that has served its purpose and now has nothing else to offer. This card's energy is that of summing up, closure, and bringing things to an end ... but it also suggests that it may be time to strike a new agreement and move a relationship to different level of expression.
If there isn't a relationship that needs to be released and dissolved apparent in your life, this card advises that it may be time to arrange a new contract, a new set of understandings, and maybe a different "legal arrangement" with a person whose contributions have been a tremendous asset n the past. Now may be the time to solidify something that works really well, thereby ending the more tenuous and temporary conditions of the past, and replacing them with something better!
That's where the judgment comes in. It's time for you to consider just which course of action is indicated ... based on your past, your future, and your best opinions of the present.
Today's affirmation:
I know when it's time to restructure the relationships in my life, releasing what no longer works and solidifying those that work very well indeed.

Write the bad things that are done to you in sand,
but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble.

Final endings
b
This is a tough card. There's no two ways around it. It generally means you've come to the end of a significant illusion and are having to adjust your thinking in a mighty big way to cope with circumstances or information that is painful, harsh, heart-breaking, or disastrous. It suggests you may be handling a significant disappointment ... either fresh in present time or in repercussions from an incident in the past.
This can be especially tough where money and possessions are concerned ... because of the strong symbolic connections these things have to both our survival issues and our abstract values. Changes here ... or even instability ... can be extremely uncomfortable and scary.
Often the hardest part of any major crisis is accepting what happened. And it may be that something in the next few days triggers memories or questions from a past incident that need to be reviewed further ... and put to rest either more fully, again, or once and for all. Or it can bring the undeniable realization that something you've believed in, counted on, and maybe worked hard for ... for a long time ... has handed you back nothing but disappointment for your efforts.
As I said, this realization can be extraordinarily bitter ... and hearing that ultimately this is the first stage of important new beginnings may not hold much weight on balance -- for the time being.
An additional thought to ponder:
Just as every ending signals the arrival of new beginnings, new beginnings require endings in order to commence. This is simply the way life works, in an infinitely circular and wondrous fashion.

I cannot say whether things will get better if we change;
what I can say is that they must change if they are to get better.
