It may be time to heal and "find meaning" in something you've experienced recently that involves loss and disappointment, betrayal, ruin, and profound despair -- probably on a matter you struggled hard to achieve or where you were quite personally invested. This card implies exhaustion as well as injury ... and suggests you may have been through substantial stress in this part of your life. You may have had to "call it quits" on something you had high hopes for once-upon-a-time. Doing so may have been nothing short of traumatic.
At its worst, this card suggests you may have been badly mistreated, led on, lied to, crushed, or exploited by someone you trusted. Its ugliest energy suggests you've been "stabbed in the back." But there may simply have been serious adjustments in lifestyle ... or objective. You may have had to reluctantly accept "new information and viewpoints" about something you seriously misunderstood.
The reversal of this card may indicate this situation is in the process of healing ... or that most of the injury is "on the inside" rather than raw and oozing out in public. But even if it's not as galling as it used to be, even if you've had some time to get over what happened -- chances are it still hurts a lot.
However, it's now time to learn to trust life again ... and move on, in the aftermath of crushing defeat, sorrow, and despair. It may take a while yet for you to recover from this, personally, intellectually, financially ... and emotionally. Revelations such as this one suggests aren't easy to absorb. And you need to still be gentle with yourself -- and cautious. You're not as strong yet as you were once ... and you'd do well to remember that for a while.
Today's affirmation:
I know how to take one day at a time ... and stabilize myself before trying to take another step in any direction.

Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.

Misunderstandings
b
You may find today and tomorrow are fraught with chaos, confusion, frustration, repetition, unclear communications ... and a sense of just not understanding where other people are coming from and not getting your ideas across to them as you intend at all.
You may meet a situation where you can't seem to get a grip on the subject matter, where the ideas being presented make no sense to you, where you realize your understanding of what's being conveyed is confused and flawed, or where you can't organize your thoughts well enough to express yourself clearly or make good decisions.
This card's energy is one of fundamental intellectual confusion and botched communication, and when that's an energy you are having to handle in your relationships, the ever-present complexity of relationships becomes all the more challenging to handle well.
An extra piece of advice:
Even when you're spinning your wheels, confused, not thinking straight, not communicating clearly, and lost in the frustration of "not getting it" and not getting your ideas across, it's important to know the people in your relationships are reaching toward you in the chaos, trying to lift you onto some solid island of sanity where you can recover your bearings and re-establish your connections again, to them, and with yourself.

If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.

You may meet a situation where you can't seem to get a grip on the subject matter, where the ideas being presented make no sense to you, where you realize your understanding of what's being conveyed is confused and flawed, or where you can't organize your thoughts well enough to express yourself clearly or make good decisions. This card's energy is one of fundamental intellectual confusion and botched communication. It can be enormously frustrating to cope with that.
An extra piece of advice:
This card can also suggest a general "bad attitude" ... because you need to reconsider some of your personal prejudices, pet peeves, or other issues where a new look, new information, or a new perspective could help. The world really does respond to the way you see it ... and adjusting one, adjusts the other automatically.

The bitter cup we strive to remove from us holds the medicine we are most in need of.
