This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You have emerged from the fog of a substantial illusion you've been laboring under. You've been acting on false or deceptive information. You may have believed something that was untrue, misguided, or misunderstood. You see reality more clearly, however ... and can now operate from a much more powerful position in the future.

You are in conditions of conflict, separation, misunderstanding, and quarrelling -- possibly regarding an important relationship or alliance. The energy of this card is that of "coming apart," and indicates unbalanced relationships, failure to communicate well, failure to understand your partner and his or her needs, and an overall lack of support and appreciation in either direction among you and your associates.

It can also indicate circumstances where someone in a relationship is too possessive, dishonest, too demanding, manipulative, or cold. There is a severe lack of balance and equality in what should be a much more even or independent arrangement.

It indicates arguments, disputes, distrust, unhappiness, loneliness, and "feeling distant" from those who are supposed to care for you -- and about whom you, too, ostensibly care. This is an energy of unhappiness ... and feeling both unloved and unloving. This energy is out in the open ... where you can work with it directly and try to correct it. But as an asset, it may not be offering you much help in meeting the challenges of what you are trying to cope with.

It is time to make a new beginning, construct a new vision of what you want to accomplish -- or become, or launch a new start buoyed on a new sense of self-confidence and new opportunities. This may involve a new sense of who you are, new ways of honoring and "being true" to yourself, new purposes, and new goals.

You need to embrace new energy and enthusiasm ... and know you are going in the right direction and stepping up to a new level of personal development and achievements. At last you are able to use these wonderful assets properly on your own behalf -- and they have your complete attention now.

You are in circumstances that are unfair, unbalanced, unjust. Someone may have treated you unfairly. You may have arranged to be unfair to yourself in order to be fair to somebody else. Possibly you have taken advantage of a loophole that got you better arrangements than you really deserved -- or someone pulled this on you.

It may take several efforts to resolve this matter, or perhaps there simply is no way to be fair to all concerned. You understand the dimensions and ramifications of this situation. You may not be able to completely correct the imbalance that exists, but at least you are able to work with the matter directly, consciously, and out in the open.

You are, however, "running on empty," over-wrought, and not getting enough rest. You may need some substantial "down-time" in order to recuperate -- but you may not feel you can afford that luxury. For the time being, you may prefer to ignore the implications of this handicap ... or you may not feel you have any choice but to "work around it."

Soon, you will have to cope with a problem personality -- or set of attitudes. This person is domineering, obstinate, vengeful, cruel. She (or he!) places too much emphasis on her own image -- and is insecure in this identity. She is insincere, shallow, condescending, jealous ... and may pick at or find fault with others in order to undermine their confidence. This may be a tactic to build up her own flagging or unsteady self-image.

Her attitudes are demanding, petty, rigid, vain, lacking in compassion and sympathy. She is narrow-minded, bitter, controlling, ruthlessly competitive, and angry. This person is self-absorbed, self-centered, and may be given to "ambushing" people -- as a tactic for gaining power.

This may, indeed, be another person you have to cope with -- or it may be an inner personality of yours that is causing trouble, and that has come to the surface now so you can confront and correct its counterproductive effects.

In time, you will reach a resolution where you are failing to take charge of your circumstances ... and your life, conditions where you are either pushing too hard or not exercising your rightful authority in the choices and directions of your own life. You may be dealing with energy that is tyrannical, controlling, domineering, and abusive. You may also be wasting opportunities and not building anything constructive at this point.

This card's energy can also mean someone in your situation (possibly you yourself) is being lazy and indifferent ... drifting when you ought to be doing something constructive and making discernible progress ... or at least paying better attention. You may not be exercising proper self-discipline or self-control. You ... or someone influential in your situation ... may be wanting success without doing the necessary work. You also may be dealing with negative or unethical motives.

You will be suffering overall from a lack of courage, determination, leadership, and action. You may be mismanaging an important situation ... and making no progress. You ... or someone in this situation ... may be displaying or coping with toxic ego issues, interested only in self-advancement or self-promotion. You may also be coping somehow with delusions of grandeur ... or a complete lack of integrity, ability, and ambition.
