This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are in a situation where a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes have considerable influence. This may involve someone who has -- or causes -- chronic financial problems, someone who is impractical, irresponsible, physically lazy, and who "uses" people ... especially to his own financial advantage.

You may also face attitudes that are unethical, calculating, financially stingy -- or financially greedy, and where "doing things the easy way" is a primary concern. Accommodating this person may be chronically costly to your career progress, your pocketbook, and your physical health.

Because energy is always a two-way street -- this may represent another person in your situation, or it may be a side of your personality you are reluctant to confront or control. You may not even want to admit it exists.

Alternatively: This card can indicate you need to do some serious work to refocus your thinking about money, business decisions, commercial transactions, and the use of time and other resources. It can mean a new way of conducting your financial life and managing your economic situation is waiting to unfold ... and you need to do the inner work -- and the groundwork -- to discover it.

If the description of the difficult personality above doesn't seem to fit your circumstances, or if this interpretation resonates more emphatically with the situation you are handling, then consider this to be the message the card is offering you.

You are in a situation of restlessness, desire for change, and a need to restore balance to circumstances that have gone off center. You confront issues of unfairness, pressure, and coercion. You also must deal with wastefulness, self-indulgence, and instability -- either from you or from someone influential in your situation. Overbearing attitudes and unnecessary force are on display -- either from you or from someone else.

You are misdirecting your energy ... and placing yourself under tension and stress which affect you physically. You need moderation and greater mental clarity. You or someone else is being opinionated, self-willed, compulsive, and self-centered. You are operating on "automatic pilot" ... or are otherwise out of control or failing to give proper direction to your life. You are out of touch and off-track, and meeting the consequences of past choices that did not serve you well.

In thinking through your choices on this situation, you need to withdraw from the stresses of the outside world, take some time for yourself, and seek the greater comfort and counsel of your own Inner Self. This should be a time of active spiritual seeking, of discovering life's meaning in terms of your own spiritual truth, of seeking your own direction and listening to your inner counsel. It should also be a time of creative visualization, of absorbing wisdom, of gaining greater insight, and setting personal goals.

You need to use this strategy for your own gain now, and realize it is available to you. Your compass at this point needs to center on the dedication to do what is right and true for you, be open-minded, quiet, and observant, to enjoy the comfort of your solitude, and stabilize yourself and your expanding wisdom in the serenity available to you now.

This is a period of valuing your own time and space, of experiencing your own self-awareness, and having the patience to be tolerant, introspective, and questioning all at the same time. It is a time of contemplation ... and of drawing conclusions from the accumulated wisdom of your own life's experience. From this will come the knowledge you need to make the proper decisions. The influence this has on your thinking and choices now is substantial ... and positive.

You have come through a time of significant difficulty, serious enough to be termed a crisis, and have found meaning and solid ground again after coping with these upsetting -- and even abusive -- experiences. This new level of wisdom is an asset you can use in this situation now, applying the strength and greater perspective you have gained by virtue of overcoming this period of sustained trouble -- and surviving.

Very soon, a time of greater freedom and wider options will arrive. You already have more latitude than you realize. In time, you'll start to look at your circumstances differently, adopting ideas that you weren't ready to consider before, or taking on viewpoints that once seemed "impossible." It will be an important break-through when you do.

Soon, you will move into a situation that involves the release of physical and financial assets. Something here may not pay off the way you expect it to ... or it may cost you a lot more than you realized -- or hoped. On a positive note, this incident of releasing money may indicate you will make a major purchase (although it's also possible what you "buy" will be the sad wisdom of experience.) Or you may "invest a lot of yourself" into something -- that may or may not yield the dividend you're looking for.

At the moment, indications are it won't give back what you intend -- but the investment may simply take more time to mature than you've realized. Presently, however, you have to work with the possibility that you are overspending; incurring money problems; investing yourself, your time, and your talents poorly.

You may not be living up to your potential -- or achieving the gains you intend to make. You may be jeopardizing yourself without realizing it ... or exhausting yourself to no ultimate benefit.

Long term, however, you will find you have pushed yourself to the point of collapse -- and possibly illness -- because of the load of commitments, responsibilities, and stress you are handling. The need for you to "do it all" itself needs to change.
